Grian was in quite the tight spot.
Literally.
It had started a few weeks ago. When Scar had left his starter base to start working on his new projects, Grian hadn't thought it was a big deal. He could still talk to Scar whenever he wanted, and they would see each other at the monthly hermit meetings.
So imagine Grian's shock when, after only a day alone in his enclave of the jungle, Grian felt desperately lonely. So lonely, in fact, that he couldn't sleep. No matter how much he tried to fall asleep, he couldn't. He tossed and turned all night, and when the morning sun peeked through his windows, he still hadn't managed to get any sleep.
Grian thought his sleepless night would be a one time thing, but it was quickly a two, then three timed thing. Finally, when Grian was just about to faint from exhaustion, he had an idea. Now, he couldn't really say it was a good idea, especially after finding himself in the current situation. But it was an idea that worked, and helped him fall asleep, and that was good enough for him.
The idea had been to walk around Scar's base. He didn't venture very far into the base at first, just enough to feel like Scar was next to him, talking about Jellie, or magic, or crystals. But soon that wasn't enough. Slowly Grian found himself going in the base to remind him of Scar, and exploring every nook and cranny. He had sworn off going into the bedroom for a long time; it seemed like an invasion of privacy, but this night he had felt extra lonely and missed Scar so much. He just remembered stepping a foot in, not too much. But then he found himself on the bed, inhaling the scents that reminded him of the wizard. Grian, realizing this endeavor was perhaps a bit creepy, quickly jumped off and started to see himself out.
But then he heard a sound. A sound that sounded suspiciously like the builder of the structure he was currently in.
And that's how Grian found himself in the closet; a mere ten feet away from his wizard friend. The closet door had a little hole in the wood, causing Grian to be able to view what Scar was doing. The brunette male seemed to be searching for something; he was rustling through chests and shulker boxes, mumbling to himself quietly. Finally, after what seemed like an hour to Grian, but was probably more like five minutes, Scar grabbed a potion from a chest and held it up triumphantly. He started to move towards the door, making Grian breathe a sigh of relief. Then, almost as if Grian had jinxed himself, Scar turned back.
"It's rather dark outside, would probably be better to stay here for the night," Scar muttered to himself. Grian mentally screamed and cursed whatever HermitGod was out there.
Scar quickly started getting ready for bed, and, with nothing better to do, Grian silently watched him. Sure, maybe it was a bit stalkerish, but Grian was pretty sure he had already crossed that line when he snuck into the other hermit' bedroom. Oops
Grian took pause for a minute when Scar slipped off his robes, revealing a rather nice body. Yes, he was technically shirtless all the time, but the robe covered almost everything up. Which Grian would say was rather a shame, now that he had the comparison. He quickly rid himself of those thoughts, though. Grian hastily assured himself that him and Scar were just friends. And he averted his eyes away from the bright room, and back into the pitch black closet. Grian would have to sit here all night if he didn't want to get caught, and that's what he planned to do.
It had been about seven and a half minutes since Grian had made the plan, and he already regret it. The closet was boring. He started to strongly debate whether or not to come clean, when the decision was made for him.
Light rushed into the closet as Scar opened the door, humming to himself quietly.
It took about fifteen seconds for the taller male to look down and see a very guilty-looking hermit on the floor. He almost screamed, before recognizing the face to be one he knew very well.
"Uh, G-man, watcha doing?" Scar asked finally, after about ten seconds of the two hermits exchanging looks.
"I was, uh, looking for supplies," Grian replied. He had used the ten seconds to come up with the lie, and, he had to admit, it wasn't a good one.
"In my closet?" Scar asked, skeptical.
"Uh huh," Grian nodded. "but, I don't think you have any, so I'll just be going."
Scar moved to block Grian from leaving, therefore causing Grian to bump into him. Both men flushed as Grian's head connected to Scar's bare stomach, but Scar ignored it, clearing his throat.
"Give me a real reason, please," Scar demanded, though his rather harsh tone was hard to take seriously paired with his red face.
Grian realized he was already in one of the most awkward situations in the world, so he may as well just tell the truth. How much worse could it get?
So Grian explained the whole story. The words just kept rushing out, and both men again flushed hard when Grian recounted his time in Scar's bed. Oops, he had meant to leave that part out. The explanation kept coming though, and soon Grian felt wet tears on his cheeks. Embarrassed, he quickly tried to wipe them away, hoping Scar wouldn't notice. By the end of his story, though, it was no use. Grian was a sniffling, crying mess. Grian turned his downcast head up, expecting to see a judging glare from the other hermit, but he was instead met with a sympathetic expression and open arms for a hug. Grian quickly obliged and the two men hugged for a while.
"Want to watch a movie?" Scar hesitantly suggested. He didn't really know what to say to Grian, but movies always made Scar cheer up, so maybe it would work for others. To Scar's delight, Grian happily nodded. Scar beckoned Grian out of his room, and into a cozy living room. Grian had spent the previous night here, curled up in the couch, but Scar didn't need to know that.
The couple chose a movie, and sat together on the couch, the light from the TV illuminating their tired faces.
Near the end of the movie, there was the predictable kiss between the main protagonist and the girl that hated him at the beginning of the movie. Grian rolled his eyes at the cliche and turned to Scar, assuming the other man would also be annoyed at the predictability of the couple, but he instead found a teary eyed Scar watching the screen.
"You're a romantic one, huh?" Grian questioned his friend. Scar nodded before turning to Grian with an unreadable expression. Grian started to apologize, thinking he may have accidentally insulted his friend, but before he could get the words out, Grian saw Scar lean in, and felt him quickly brush his cheek with a peck. Before Grian had even said anything, Scar's eyes widened and he stuttered out an explanation.
"I'm so sorry, Gri. I'm just tired and the movie was all cute and I just thought a-and I didn't mean to-"
His words were cut off my Grian pulling Scar into a deep kiss. One that probably wouldn't be appropriate for the PG-13 movie they were watching. When they both pulled away, breathless, Grian smirked and laid his head down in Scar's lap.
Scar felt the smaller man's hot breath on his leg the rest of the movie, making it hard to focus. When the movie ended, Scar quickly jumped up. He found that he missed Grian's warmth, which made his blush, though he was lucky Grian couldn't tell in the dark room.
"So, ready for bed?" Scar questioned awkwardly.
"Yep!" Grian said, still with a smirk.
Then he followed Scar back into his room.
And Grian slept on the floor while Scar slept on the bed because no unholy things until marriage my disciples of Jesus.
