13. THATS WHAT SHE SAID

Kairi's POV
Lunch was over, ale and alv left awhile ago saying they needed to talk. Alv looked like he saw a ghost or something but we all said okay. Then Robert and roshaun left so that Roshaun can meet Lola's friend Sophia, me and Tia we're walking back to our room. Lunch wasn't awkward or anything but I was nervous, a few of the guys were asking me over and over if I was hungry or why I wasn't eating. I only told them I wasn't hungry because I had a big breakfast. I couldn't help but feel that Mattia didn't believe me. The other guys were but when he looked at me Mattia had this saddening look in his eyes, he looked down and then just threw his food away. He hasn't really talked since and it was making me nervous or worried that I did something. Once we got to our room he just laid down and started scrolling on his phone, it was about 2:30 and I had already unpacked all of my stuff before my shower. I decided on leaving him be and laid on my bed going on my laptop, a few seconds later my phone goes off signaling I had a text so I picked it up to see that Vic texted the gc with em and I.

                                      Where are you guys?

Kai🥺:
In my dorm.

Vic:
                                I didn't see you in lunch?

Kai🥺:
I met some guys in the hallways when I first got here, I sat at lunch with them.

                                       Kai fry are you okay?
I smile down at my phone reading the nickname she called me, She's called me it ever since we were in high school, freshman year. It was after a soccer game and I got burnt really bad.   
Flashback
Kai ran up to Em and Vic happy that he won his game, he was beyond sweaty and so tired. To say that kai carried the game was an understatement, it was blistering outside and the sun was right over the field. The team they played wasn't the best but they gave their all and Kairi knew his team had a small chance at losing so he gave his all and more.
Kairi's POV
"WHOOO KAI GOOD JOB!"  Vic says clapping.
"Yeah you did AMAZING, definitely the best out there." Em adds on earning a glare from a few players from my team.
"Hands. Down." She growls returning a stronger glare, she is so confident and takes no ones shit. She rarely ever says sorry, she's like our protecter of the group. She's definitely not the mom considering she smokes, drinks, and does other shit. I mean we do too but not as much as her. Vics more of the mom, Em is the one that will always defend you no matter where you are or who it is. She never backs down from an argument, but she's not a bully and she's not headstrong. We're a very different friend group but not entirely, we do the same things but our personalities just aren't as similar. We all met each other when we were born, yes I mean that. We were all born at the same hospital because our moms were all best friends since middle school and have been ever since. I mean that's what they told us, I don't really remember my childhood but I have such a tight bond with these two and can't see my life without them and almost every memory I have about my life, they were involved. I have so much love for them and will always be there for them.
"Em chill, you said you'd be cool." I laugh a little.
"Well they shouldn't be looking over here." She rolls her eyes. "I did promise you though so I'll back off kai fry." She adds chuckling at the end.
"Kai fry? What the hell is that?" I ask with a puzzled look and she starts cracking up.
"Well you're burnt and I don't like lobster, so I'm gonna call you kai fry forever starting now. Mark my words." She says laughing with me and Vic joining her. I guess she was right because she's been calling me that ever since.
