Birthday Party

Marinette's POV

Me: Is this ok or should I go change into something fancier? Like a dress?

Alya: You are overthinking it Marinette! Just go with what you like and I'm sure Adrien would like it.

Me: I really hope you're right. I'm lucky Kagami is not coming. I would not have a chance at Adrien with her hogging him all the time!... By the way, didn't you and Nino decide to go together? Where is he?

Alya: He is DJing at her party, so he went there early to set up and do some sound checks. Besides, how can I leave you in this state, like this?

Alya is the best friend anyone could ask for. I am so grateful for her and I don't know what I would do without her! We left with our presents.

(time skip to reaching destination)

Alya: Wow! I thought Juleka wanted to go small on her party! All the flashing lights and music say otherwise!

Me: Ya, but it is cool though. She finally stepped out of her comfort zone!

Alya and I went into Juleka's boathouse and gave her our presents.

Alya and Me: Happy birthday, Juleka!

Alya: Cool party, with the lights and all!

Juleka: Ya, I wanted to have a small party, but Luka and my mom decided on a big party for a change.

Me: Where is Adrien? Is he not here yet?

Alya: Relax, girl, your prince charming will be here!

Alya: Where is Rose

Then, I saw Luka walking into the main area with a dispenser filled with punch. His blue eyes bored into me as I stood there, awkwardly staring at him.

Luka: Hey, Marinette!

Alya gave me a nudge from her side to say something.

Me: Oh, hey, Luka... Want some help with that?

Luka: Sure!

I walked over to Luka and held the other side of the dispenser. We then fell into awkward silence. I had to start a conversation but how? Then, I saw Jessica at the snack table talking to Mylene. I pulled her towards me.

Me: Hey, Luka, have you met Jessica? She is new in our school!

Luka: Oh, I didn't know. Hey, Jessica! How are you adjusting to your new school?

Jessica: Fine. I really need to owe it to Marinette. She and Alya were the first ones to talk to me on my first day! They also introduced me to their other classmates!

Luka: That sure sounds like Marinette! Always looking out for others!

Marinette: By the way, didn't Rose come for Juleka's birthday party?

Luka: No, she went to audition for a musical. She was very upset that she could not come for her best friend's birthday party. She tried so hard to reschedule but she couldn't.

Jessica's POV

As I was looking around for someone to talk to, my eyes spotted a person I thought I would never see.

Me: Hey! I never knew you were coming to the party!

Zayn: Well, I am a close friend of Luka's; I'm his classmate!

Me: Oh! I was just looking around for someone to talk to. How about you and I get some alone time?

Zayn: Me likey!

I held his hand and beckoned him to a secluded corner of the ship.

Zayn: Man, I have to say. My girlfriend is looking smoking today!

I put my arms around his neck.

Me: Does that mean I looked bad yesterday?

Zayn: No, I just see a glimmer in your eyes. I think it's because of me...

Me: Well, you couldn't be more wrong.

As I was lost in the brown swirls in his eyes, I felt myself moving backwards. My back hit the wall and Zayn's right hand moved to the side of my head. I noticed Zayn leaning in.

Zayn: Your mine, all mine tonight!

Just as I was about to taste Zayn's lips, I felt the ship rock back and forth. Then, I heard a shrill of a voice that said:

"Guess who could make it for the party?"
