Chapter twenty one

A loud 'hello' was heard around the gym, catching everyone's attention. They saw a very happy and energetic hinata standing at the door, along with a worried looking kageyama.

"Oi, could you be any louder" tsukishima's sarcastic voice called out to hinata.

"Gomen tsukishima" hinata apologised and left to change.

"D-did hinata just apologise to tsukishima" ennoshita whispered in shock. "He sounded like Yamaguchi for a second." Kinoshita said with the exact same tone. "Also, is something wrong with kageyama?" narita asked in worry.

Sugawara walked up to kageyama in worry. "Uhh kageyama are you ok, are you sick" kageyama snapped out of his thoughts " i don't know, i've never been sick before"

"Wait really, not even a cold" sugawara asked in amazement. Kageyama nodded "not that i know of"

"Well are you ok to practice" daichi intervened. "Yes of course" the setter nodded eagerly.

In the background, tsukishima snickered "like that volleyball obsessed idiot would ever skip practice".

"Pfft. nice one tsukki" yamaguchi laughed along. Kageyama made a noise, almost like a growl "tch, whatever" he left to go change. He had enough on his plate to argue with tsukishima. After changing, hinata obviously got bombarded with questions.

'Why were you mad?'

'Are you ok?'

'Why didn't you answer any of our messages?'

'Did we do something wrong?'

'Were you mad at us?'

'boke hinata boke' it wasn't even a question but it was shouted at him during questioning.

During practice, Hinata kept locking eyes with takeda and ukai. All three of them would look at eachother, get a certain memory and look away red in embarrassment. It would result in hinata snickering to himself and ukai giving the child a death stare.

" hinata why do you keep getting red when you look at coach ukai" nishinoya pointed it out. " yea and you also hold back a laugh when looking at takeda" tanaka tried to intimidate hinata.

"Its like you saw them fuck or something" nishinoya laughed.

Hinata clenched his right hand, digging his nails in his skin, holding back a laugh. He tried acting as his usual clueless, innocent self. He tilted his head to the right a bit "saw them fu-"

"Stop it nishinoya, your corrupting hinata" sugawara yelled before hinata could finish that vulgar word.

"No but seriously, Hinata, everything ok" kinoshita asked.

" yea... just an inside joke we have" hinata came up with an excuse quickly.

"Ooo, i want to know" nishinoya jumped in excitement, while tanaka agreed with his shorter friend. Hinata froze, he looked at ukai for help.

"Uhh...then it wouldn't be an inside joke, and besides you had to be there in order to get the joke" ukai came to the rescue coming up with a quick lie. Well not so much of a lie, just partial.

"hmph, i smell favoritism" Nishinoya childishly stated, crossing his arms

"Would yall just get back to practice" ennoshita scolded tanaka and nishinoya.

Practice tired Hinata out, not physically but mentally. It stressed hinata out, answering all those questions, and not to mention the almost heart attack he had keeping his laughs in. He was so close to snapping and telling them that he saw takeda giving ukai head.
