Chapter thirty five

The time of practice came far too quickly and the aura of karasuno took a big 180 from yesterday practice. The tension is so big you would need an axe to break through.

"Well, i'm glad to see that y'all are pumped and full of energy, best of luck, work hard" ukai said. Their opponent was fukurodani and they had very bad blood with two specific owls.

After the whole 'lets see who will win his heart' fiasco, they enlighten Yamaguchi, narita, ennoshita, and kinoshita on the whole thing.

Obviously not setting well with them, they too turned into bloodlust animals.

The ones who didn't know about the whole incident, were a bit worried. Since hinata wasn't a part of it, he too was confused about the tension in the air.

As hesitant as he was, he asked his team what was wrong. "Uhh guys is everything alright?" the small tangerine asked.

"Oh absolutely! Everything is fine" suga said through gritted teeth. "We're just very eager to crush them in this game" he said as he looked at akaashi. While the 'game' had a double meaning to it, both Karasuno and the two owls knew what he meant by game.

"Oh, I am two. Although it will be very hard, they are very talented competitors, if we let up, they would surely win" hinata smiled with determination.

The comment that hinata had said had double meaning to the others. The owls smirked as Karasuno's blood boiled.

"Then don't let up, shrimp" tsukishima said in his monotone voice. Hinata's head tilted to the side.

"Ehh, since when do you care, saltyshima?" Hinata asked with pure curiosity.

"I don't, but ill be damned if i have to see the stupid owls smugged smirk" tsukishima spat. Hinata backed away into position, not wanting to see the results of the blonde's wrath.

The captains shook hands, the whistle blew, and the match started.

By the end of the match, it was no longer a practice one, the two teams quickly got competitive and made it into an 'official' match. Each team would try to win three sets out of five, the first to win three would be the winner.

In the first set, there was no possible way to counter that quick attack, letting karasuno win that set.

After that, fukurodani found a way to counter. Less about blocking and more about receiving, not letting him get many options of attacking freely. The second set was won by the owls.

The third and fourth set was about strategy and trickery. Yamaguchi came in the game with his jump floats. Suga replaced kageyama for a while, freshening up the plays with new ideas. Some occasional emo bokuto but akaashi quickly solve that. Each team won one set.

The fifth and final set was no longer about that. Everyone finds weakness in each other, others find the strengths. It was now up to ' who will let the ball drop first'. The liberos working hard, pushing the limits placed on them. A few flashy rolling thunders were thrown.

But atlast, only one could win the set, only one could win that match, only one team would come out victorious. By the end of the game, all the other teams were enthralled into the 'owls vs crows', forgetting their own.

The teams watching, screamed and cheered as the whistle blew, signaling the end of the match. Both teams out of breath, legs shaking , barely standing. Their sweat covered the wooden floor, it was a devastating loss for the crows.

The owls cheered and hugged each other, while the crows were sprawled out on the floor, barely awake.

Some time after, both teams got up and thanked each other for the game.

The crows surrounded their coach, awaiting his speech to them.

"Yall went against one of the most powerful powerhouse schools and evenly matched them. I don't want yall to forget this day because even though yall lost today, yall played one hell of a game. You countered most of the attack given to you by them. By the end of this training camp,  you will become stronger and you will strengthen what you just put out on the table. Show them the karasuno warhorse, the once powerhouse school" takeda praised them.

"Ugghhh, i can't movee!!!" nishinoya yelled.

After their tough battle with fukurodani, their muscles were sore, as they were not used to playing for that long. Karasuno was currently laying in their room, spread out on their blankets.

"What do you think Hinata is doing in his job right now?" Asahi asked no one in particular.

When they finished practice, all the teams took their shower and headed to the cafeteria. After their meal, a particular tangerine went to ukai to ask for permission to leave.

Getting his 'yes', Hinata left to his job. He announced to his team that he would come back some time later. His team reminded him once again that he could come into their room at night, that it wouldn't be a bother.

"I don't know, maybe in a maid outfit, serving coffee and cake" sugawara blushed with a dazed smile plastered on his face.

The other guys smiled of the idea of their sunshine in a maid outfit. Some didn't want to think so hard on that mental image.

"Do you think the others know about Hinata's job?" Tanaka asked.

"Most likely, I mean, they knew about us rejecting him and about asahi dating him" ennoshita sighed out.

"Isn't nekomas setter best friends with hinata?" Daichi asked.

"The pudding head?" Suga asked, looking at daichi.

"Oh yea, hinata did say something about being best friends with kenma" yamagachi joined.

"Oi, i thought the king was his best friend" tsukishima smirked, knowing it was gonna strike a chord with kageyama.

"Yeah i thought so too" kinoshita said, confusion printed on his face.

"Apparently, he has more than just one" narita discussed.

"Well, that wouldn't be so surprising considering how much of a social butterfly he is" yamaguchi smiled at the thought of hinata.

"Tch, that boke can't shut the hell up, always talking to new people. He gets kidnapped by other teams" Kageyama almost growled at the thought of Hinata with other people.

"Hey, don't yall want to know what was hinata doing with them in that extra room" nishinoya remembered how his precious kohai was sleeping with the seven intruders.

"Should we ask him, would he even tell us" asahi was the first to speak on that topic.

"We'll never know till we try" ennoshita motivated the team.

"We should ask him when he comes back, there's no point in worrying about it now" Daichi closed his eyes like a dad would.

"It won't be too long till he comes back. It's already an hour before lights out, he should come back soon" Sugawara announced, already anxious to ask about it.

"Now we wait".
