Chapter nine

 "Quick Kenzie the school bus is here" Tom stated

"Please feed Philly dad" She added

"No problem"

"By everyone," Kenzie said waving

In Bright Elementary, school uniform is not worn every day just on Mondays and Wednesdays. Kenzie is dressed in a white short-sleeved shirt, a blue tie, black trousers, black socks, and blue sneakers.

"Don't stain that shirt before you return" Tasha declared

'Okay, I'm not a baby" She answered and left

'You should be on your way Zendaya" Tom reminded her noticing her relaxation

'Hilson is just a fifteen minutes drive dad" She replied

"Has anyone seen my makeup kit?" Tasha screamed from upstairs

"Makeup on day one?" Tom questioned"

"You're beautiful mum" Zen complimented

"Thanks, dear but I need to apply lipgloss" She stated

"It should be in my room" Zendaya declared

"Thank you" She replied

"I'm off. Should I meet you guys at Kenzie's school?" Zen inquired

"There's no need for that. You can lunch" He replied

"Okay" She declared and left

This is the normal morning routine in the Daniels house. Always rushing to leave home.

Zendaya's POV

Location: Hilson College( Biochemistry laboratory)

Biochemistry professor, Professor Caly but we call her Ms. Caly is a middle-aged woman from her look. She can explain a sentence for thirty minutes and most times, students doze off. The funniest thing is that she doesn't notice people doze. She's teaching on Homeostasis and I feel like running out of class, her class is so boring. Noticing my coursemates' expression, I can tell they're frustrated. Who wouldn't be? One I like about her is the way she dresses. I've never seen her wear a skirt, she's always in trousers. Today, she's wearing black jeans and a white shirt. Her heel is also black, they match with the color of her eyes. To be honest, she's so beautiful and people like are her rare. Apart from my mum, aunt, Ms. Caly, and every other beautiful person, wrinkles have started appearing on their face. I also love her accent, pure American. I can't leave out the fact that she has long brown hair, the longest strand gets to the belt of her jeans. I'm not exaggerating

"I'll be pairing you in groups of two's and three's for a project you'll all turn in next week. I need a class representative for this course. Any volunteers" She stated looking around

Adam rose his hand

Those who are class representatives aren't normal beings. Of all things to become, the workload is too much. They get the blame if a project is misplaced or if a student doesn't turn an assignment in.

"Any other person?" She inquired

No one signified

"Okay, Adam you have it. Don't fail me. Anyone who fails to submit, it leads to a reduction in your GPA" She announced

"Alex and Nora, you're partners"

"David, Jace and Sofia"

"Darby and Harry"

"I'm left with Adam, Richard, and Zendaya"

I can't be in the same group with Richard, I'll die. Oh, this is not happening

"No, Richard joins Darby's group" She stated

I nearly jumped for joy

"Are we okay with that?" She inquired

My response was the loudest, it caused everyone to give me a weird look

"What's the project all about?" Nora asked

She always has a question. I don't blame her, I was like that in Elementary school. Nora is also like Ms. Caly, the only difference between them is their eye color. Nora's eyes are blue, it suits her skin well, White and Blue. Also, her dressing is a little extreme; if she wears a thin-strapped dress, she doesn't use a jacket. Her body is exposed when it comes to dressing but she's great at fashion.

"I thought you'll never ask. Each group should research the balance of body fluids, there'll be a presentation next week" She explained

"Any questions?" She added

No response

" I take that as a no. See you the same time and the same place next week" She stated and left the lab

Everyone gathered in their groups and talking about what I don't know. Where's Adam?? Here he comes

" I don't know what everyone is saying but we should get to this project" I declared

"Okay. Um...I have a shift to run at work after school. I'll meet you at your house" He announced

When he talks, there's a way he looks at you like he's looking for something on your face. His eyes go straight into yours and it's kind of creepy. I'm okay with it because his eyes are blue, a darker shade of blue. Since blue is a cool color, it affects his dressing. He doesn't wear anything baggy, his trousers are his exact size, the same as his shirts. His haircut is pompadour fade and it suits his face.

"Okay, I'm not sure of the address since I just moved in. I'll confirm and send it to you" I declared

"Okay, I'll see you at four" He stated

"Yep"

"Back to what we were saying at the Party, have you resolved the conflict between you and Richard?" He asked

"What's your business with that?" I questioned his nosey attitude

"Nothing, I just wanted to know" He explained

"That's none of your business. Besides, I'm not quarreling with anyone. This whole situation makes me look like a kid"

"You are a kid" He declared

'What" I said steeping on him"

"Ouch. Why did you do that?" He said hoping

"I'm not a child" I responded

"You're quarreling, you don't know your home address" He added

"Sorry," I said

'No problem. Your phone number?" He asked

"What for?" I asked raising a brow

"Why shouldn't I have my partner's number? There may be a change in plans" He announced

The word 'partners' leaves me with a creepy feeling. He can call me coursemate, classmate or any other thing I'm comfortable with

"Oh!" I expressed

We exchanged phone numbers and I saved his as 'snooper' I don't know why I did that but I'm entirely cool with it

"See ya later," He said and left the lab

"What a specimen of human" I muttered
