Chapter twenty-six

Tasha's POV

Every Monday, each department is given a task to do and just a department wins per week. At the end of the academic term, the department with the highest wins gets the 'Best Department of the Term Award'. The Principal gave us 'Reducing gender inequality' as this week's topic. I want the Social Science Department to win because the Science department has won two consecutive times.

Presently, I'm in a meeting with my Colleagues and the Head Of Department, Harry. From what I've seen, he's a Perfectionist. He has a lot of standards and I don't want to let him down. When he speaks, everyone obeys, he also doesn't repeat his words twice.

"Good Morning everyone, I hope you all had a nice weekend" He greeted sitting

We all responded

We are in a board room and we're sitting like we're in a conference meeting. We're seven all together including Harry. We all have writing materials before us to jot down important points.

"Great, we have a new staff here with us. You should have seen her around. We're so glad you're one of us Tasha" He stated jotting

"I'm honored to be here" IWe have tong my best smile

"Okay, let's get to work. The theme this week is on gender inequality and we all know that it's the female gender that's not seen as equal to the male gender. It's our duty to find out why this is so, and proffer solutions to it. I won't do the thinking this time around; you all will. You'll find out the definition, causes, and effects of gender inequality. We're meeting at the same time and place tomorrow. Any questions?"

No one asked a question

"You're dismissed. Late coming is not allowed tomorrow" He appended

Gilbert's POV

"Great, we have a new staff here with us. You should have seen her around. We're so glad you're one of us Tasha" Harry announced

"I'm honored to be here" She responded

Wow, we did not need an extra staff in this department. She's here probably because she's in a way related to Kira, the Principal. I don't care less anyway. Since Summer High is one of the top schools in town, it wants to look good on paper. An organization that encourages racial diversity and culture is seen as a great organization. There're less than twenty-five black teaching staffs in Hilson so an addition is not that bad, I guess. The stingy part is that all attention is focused on her, I used to be the star of this department until the enemy showed up. I can't let anyone take my place here, not under my watch

Great, I did not get all that he said, all thanks to little Miss Loser.
