Chapter fifteen

                                      Adam's POV

"If I were your parents, I would place a tracking device on you. At your age, you still can't find your way around here" I put forward

"You were told to escort me not criticize me Adam Gates" She reminded me

Calling my name in full, I love it

"Zendaya Daniels don't call my name in full" I corrected

That was a contrast!!!!

"You're ridiculous, utterly ridiculous" She responded

"If you irritate me, Zendaya, I'll leave you here in the middle of the street" I added

"Oh! Would you? I would have loved for Richard to escort me and not you. I said you should come with your car but you refused" She retorted

"Really? You pressed the wrong button, Zendaya, You were scared that I'll kill you. I haven't committed murder and I don't want to. Prevention is better than cure" I put forward

I turned to leave. I can't believe I'm behaving like a child but this game is interesting.

"Are you going to desert me now Adam?" She cried

I looked at her and laughed.

"Of course, I'll go get Richard" I declared

After taking like fifteen steps, she called for me

"Adam, I'm sorry" She apologized

"Are you?" I asked

"How the mighty fell" I stated faking my accent like that of Willaim Shakespeare

"Come on, I was just joking" She shouted

"Keep your voice low, someone would think I'm a jerk" I declared

" I'd rather get lost than allow Richard to accompany me" She added

Wow, what a confession

"I don't know who offended who but holding a grudge is not advisable" I added

"I'll advise you not to get involved with this Adam" She warned

"I won't, I don't poke my nose into other people's business. Lest I forget, you're invited to a party on Sunday evening" I added

"Party, party, party, party, party, Adam why? How will you concentrate on your studies? No wonder I'm better than you are" She questioned

"Oh, you got that wrong. Attending parties doesn't determine your academic performance. Besides, parties are attended to have fun. Relax Zen, you have just one life to live, enjoy it while it lasts" I told her

"Do not call me Zen, only my family calls me that. Anyway, if you attend a lot of parties, you won't focus. Nobody can change my mind about that" She corrected

"Okay, I'll call you Daya" I teased

"Do not give me a Pet name Adam" She responded frankly

"I'll come up with one someday and nobody can change my mind about that"

"We'll see about that. Thank you for escorting me, if you hadn't I would have probably....."

"Gotten lost," I said sharply

"True talk. See you in school tomorrow" She said smiling

"I'm not attending Microbiology class" I informed

"Why?"She inquired

I knew she'll ask. Typical nosey Zendaya. Well, that's what makes her special

"None of your business. Give me a call if your parents decide to come to my parents' anniversary"

"I will. Do not forget that truancy leads to bad grades" She added

"Yeah. I know that" I stated

"There's no point arguing with you" She appended

"Bye"

"Bye, see you in Microbiology class" She added

"You sure don't give up easily" I complimented

"I don't" She responded

"You can't find your way from here right?" I questioned not sure

"Of course, I've got it"

Zendaya's POV

During our usual family dinner, I brought up the topic of the Gates' anniversary

"Mum, Adam's dad invited us all to his anniversary," I said

"Awesome sauce" Kenzie declared

She's also excited when it comes to parties.

"It's on Saturday" I added

"I'm free on Saturday" My mum stated

"Same here" Added my dad

"I guess that's a yes then," Kenzie said jovially

"Sure, Kenzie can play with Adams younger sibling when she's bored," My dad said

"He's the only child" I added

"Kenzie, I thought you said he has a younger brother?" My mum inquired

"According to my research, he has a younger sibling," She said

"What research?" I enquired

My family members can be so babyish at times. I'm sure my mum is behind this investigation. After he had dinner, I knew they were all up to something.

"Oh, oh. Nothing, windpipe" She replied

"I don't know what you guys are up to but I'll find out very soon" I added

"We'll see about that" Kenzie stated smiling mischievously

"What's with everyone?" I said with frustration

"Can we eat quietly?" I added

"I wonder why you're always following dining rules. Break the rules for once" Kenzie stated

"I'm a science student, I know what's right. Talking with food in your mouth can lead to choking. Food can go through the windpipe and prevent breathing. Also................"

"Enough, enough of that already" My dad interrupted

"Dad? I thought you'll have my back" I said with disappointment

I expected him to be my right-hand man and my backbone, not a traitor.

"I do at all times. Sometimes, the rules just have to be broken to have fun" He explained

My mum laughed

"My gosh, this is unbelievable" I declared
