Chapter fourteen

Richard's POV

My group got a 'B'. I spent the weekend at Adam's house planning his parent's party and playing video games. Adam's group got an 'A'. They deserve it, Adam spent virtually the whole afternoon in Zendaya's house. I hope her designs are nice, Adam talks a lot about them. It won't be bad to congratulate Adam and Zendaya. As I walked down the hall, I saw both of them chatting. This is interesting

"Hey guys"

"What's up" Adam responded

"Nothing, I only wanted to congratulate both of you. Your hard work paid after all" I said

"Thank you. Your performance wasn't bad either" Adam added

"Zendaya, won't you say anything?" I inquired

She looked at me with disgust. She's rolling her eyes and probably fuming.

"I'll talk to you later Adam," She said and turned to leave

"Not so fast Zendaya. Don't be rude" Adam stated

"Oh, thank you Richard", she replied sarcastically

"What of the designs for the IV?" I asked

"How did you know about that Richard?" She interrogated

"He's a family friend", Adam added

"Oh! I see"

"So, are you done with it?" I investigated

"Yes, I'll send them to Adam" She replied

"She should come over, your dad would love to see her in person" I added

Speaking this nice is difficult. I'm not a bad guy but I'm not also nice. I don't just flow well with her, I wonder how Adam does. What made me angry was that she challenged me after I told her she wouldn't last in CD class. I'm not seeing myself as a racist but no Black has completed that course. This is her second week and she dares to be different.

"There's no need for that. I'll send it to Adam" She argued

"I insist, he would love to meet you" I persuaded her

"Richard's right. You should come. You remember my home address right?" Adam declared

"If you guys insist. I'll be there after school" She appended

"Okay, see you" I added smiling sheepishly

Zen's POV

I don't know what Richard is up to, but he won't get away this time.

"I insist, he would love to meet you" He persuaded me

"Richard's right. You should come. You remember my home address right?" Adam added

"If you guys insist. I'll be there after school" I surrendered

"Okay, see you" He appended

My mum is okay with me going over to Adam's house, she only declared I must be back home by 3 pm. Why do I need a curfew? I'm not a kid anymore, every time I explain this to them, it falls on deaf ears so, I decided I won't argue with my parents. From what I've read about Adam's dad. he is a business tycoon. Mr. Gates is also the CEO of a publishing house. His wife is a businesswoman.and the President of a business group. If his parents are that wealthy, I wonder what he's doing in Hilson.
