Golden Time (Jade x Ozpin)

Chapter 8: Council Calls

Ozpin sighed before stopping his moving hand. "My dear, I have to do more paperwork and also have to contact the council. Would you want to come with me to my office?" I stretched before getting off him before nodding. "Yeah, though let me go to the bathroom first." I swung my legs over to the side of the bed before getting up fully and making my way over. Ozpin nodded before grabbing his scroll and looking at it. He decided to take a peek at the school cameras. He saw some students talking in the hallway as they were walking. Everything seemed to be going fine. He shut off his scroll and closed it before standing himself. He walked over to his dresser before opening the bottom drawers. Their wasn't much space and it could be used for Jade's clothing. He had three drawers that weren't full. As he had his closet he mostly used. Only had the dresser for socks and underwear. Small items as well. Important things to him he kept over the many years of incarnation. He was lost in thought before he felt arms around his waist. He looked back and saw Jade. "Oh, hello Jade. You ready?" I nodded before letting him go slightly. "Yeah, whenever you are." Ozpin nodded before grabbing Jade's hand and walking to the elevator so they could head to his office. "So, the bottom three drawers are yours for clothing and such. I don't normally use them. Just the first two." Ozpin said before hearing the doors open. They both walked to Ozpin's desk and sat down. Ozpin in his normal seat and Jade next to him in a small comfortable chair. I moved my chair closer to the edge of his desk before placing my arms folded on it before laying my head on my arms. I watch Oz work quietly as he looked over papers. I soon felt my eyes get heavy and I soon fell asleep.

As Ozpin worked and read the papers about the Vytal tournament he sighed heavily upon not really wanting to host it. But four years ago Vacuo held it and each four years it changes between the kingdoms to host the next tournament. Though that would mean James and his whole military would come... and he didn't want to see many military ships outside his window. It would make him slightly uncomfortable. He signed one paper stating that he is in charge of any harm given to the civilians as well as the other students participating. He placed it and read the next one slightly mumbling to himself as he read it. "For Christ sake..." he mumbled before signing the paper without giving it much thought. I woke to hearing Oz's voice. Thinking my name had gotten called. "O-Oz? Did you call me?" I asked as I used the palm of my hand to get the tiredness from them. Ozpin looked at me before shaking his head. "No my dear. I didn't. Sorry, did I wake you?" He said sadly as he placed the pen down on his desk. "Hmm, oh no, your good. I just dozed off is all." I moved my head and kissed him on the cheek. "I love you.." I said quietly to him. He kissed me back. "Love you too." He felt his scroll buzz and saw it was the council. "Shit... okay Jade, this is an important call. Please, don't say anything. Until I say so. Okay?" Ozpin looked at me as he opened his scroll more. Once he saw me nod my head he placed his scroll on his desk before a screen popped up. Ozpin awaited the councils to say something first.

"Ozpin! Are you informed of the news of you holding the Vytal Festival this year?" One male said in a scrawny voice. Ozpin sighed softly before nodding. "Yes, I have. Glynda has informed me of it. I'm signing the papers now. That I understand the rules and conditions. As headmaster and host of the event." Ozpin said smoothly before he felt slightly nervous. "Good. Now, the council has been wondering. On your recent investigation of your mission. Have you found anything that we should know?" The scrawny voice said once again. Ozpin looked at me before looking back at the council. "No. All I found was ruins destroyed from Grimm invasions. Many dead bodies and corpses lay around. Grimm stayed active in the area. I did take care of them." Ozpin said before he felt a hand rest on his own. He looked over and saw Jade's reassuring look and a small nod. "Good. We expected much from the headmaster of Beacon Academy. Now, speaking of your academy. We will be heading to your academy tomorrow morning. Roughly around 10 AM." The male said before stopping a bit. Ozpin felt a sharp pain run through his gut at that. 'Why... so early... and nonetheless tomorrow...' he internally screamed before taking a sigh quietly. "Will that be all councilman?" He asked making sure they wouldn't want to tell him any more shocking news that would probably kill him. "No, that will be all. We will see you tomorrow headmaster." The male said probably grinning before the call ended and the screen went away. Ozpin grabbed his scroll before banging his hand on the desk.
