A/N: I honestly dreaded this chapter due to not knowing how the Vale council works in the RWBY series. Sooo... I figured they'd be cold assholes cause of what they said to Ozpin at the end of Vol 2. Hope you enjoy nonetheless. (I already have chapter ideas for the next 3-4 :) )
I felt disturbance in my sleep, I saw a slight vision appear before me. Hearing screams from the terrors and growls echoed through my dream. My vision was blurry as if I was passed out. My body woke up and heard a call of my name. I looked and saw a male that had a scythe, as well as slicked black hair. He looked unfamiliar. His mouth moved as to say something, yet I sadly couldn't comprehend it. The scene changed of us running down in a long tunnel like area. My vision blurred again as a body laid on the ground. I couldn't clearly see who it was.
I quickly jerked upward and yelled in my sleep. "Ozpin!!!" I felt tears trickle at the side of my eyes. I quickly looked around as I heard rushing of feet. I saw the male appear and rushing toward me. "Jade... Jade? Oh my dear what's wrong?" He sat down on the bed before wrapping his arms safely around me. "I.... I don't know.." I managed with my voice cracking from crying. "Shhh.... it's alright.... your safe... a bad nightmare?" Ozpin asked as he kissed my forehead multiple times to calm me down. I only nodded before clinging onto his dark green shirt he was wearing. "Y-yes..." I mumbled into his chest. Ozpin sighed before grabbing his scroll. "I still have time before I have to leave for work... do you want to explain your nightmare?" He placed his scroll down on the bed before shifting his body. "I... can try... I didn't see much." I moved a bit before feeling Ozpin's thumb brush against my cheek getting rid of the tears. "It's okay, just try to explain what you saw." I nodded before moving my own hand to his. He let me take it before I had my hand in his and running circles on his wrist. I took a deep breath before starting my explanation. "From what I could tell... I was, I think at Beacon.... I heard growls and screams.... my vision woke up as if I had gotten passed out... I heard my name get called... my body in my dream looked at the person and saw a male with slicked black hair. He seemed familiar yet I never met him before." Ozpin hummed before looking at me. "Did this male have a weapon? Or anything in his hand?" I nodded at Ozpin's question. "Yeah, he had a scythe..." Ozpin hummed again at my answer. "Okay, did anything else happen in your dream?" He asked before running his right hand through my hair. I took another deep breath as I relaxed. "Well the scene changed and me and the male were running down like a tunnel. Then my vision blurred out a person, I didn't know who it was though, I then woke up screaming your name.." I shivered a bit and hugged him. Ozpin returned the gesture and placed his chin on my head. "Hmm, interesting dream... I can't say much though. But I'll definitely think about it." Ozpin reassured me before thinking to himself of what could possibly have me be dreaming about. He of course knew about the male you were referring to. Qrow Branwen. He gave a worried look before thinking of what to do. 'I definitely won't let this go unnoticed. This is strange... I'll have to ask Glynda what she thinks later.' He sighed before moving my hair. "Well Jade. Why don't you get some more rest. I can go get you food for the remainder of today." I nodded before moving my body to lay back down on the bed. "Okay." I felt the blanket come over my body and near my chin. I cuddled into the warm comforter. I watched Oz get ready. "Hey Oz..." I whispered before seeing him turn to me. "Yes?" He walked to me before I smiled. "I love you." I heard a slight chuckle before feeling Ozpin's lips on my forehead. "Love you too, now get some rest my dear." I nodded before snuggling into the blankets and soon falling asleep once again.
Ozpin finished getting ready. He got on his scarf he wore and his shoes before grabbing his cane that laid against the wall near his bed. He twirled it around before looking at me. He gave a sad expression as he looked at my relaxed state sleeping peacefully. He shook out of his thoughts as he quickly had to get your food from the chefs before he had to greet the council at the airship docks. He wanted to teleport down yet he wasn't quite sure if students were around the dining hall or not. And he wouldn't want to risk him magically appearing. The thought made him chuckle softly as he had his magic. He walked over to the elevator before getting in it. Once it arrived at his office he could see out the window a airship. "No... they can't be here already!?" Ozpin growled before quickly walking to the window. He did indeed see the airship. Yet it wasn't the council, it was Ironwood. 'For fucks sake.' He thought before quickly teleporting to the gardens. Ozpin panted heavily as the use of his magic took a toll on him. 'Damn...' he lowered his head and sighed before getting his composure back together. He walked out to where the gardens entered the courtyard before seeing the airship dock. 'Perfect timing...' Ozpin thought before walking up to the airship. He saw the doors open as Ironwood walked out of it. "Oh, Ozpin, didn't expect to see you down here. Thought you'd be cooped in your office." Ironwood started as he walked toward the headmaster. "General, it would appear that I could say the same. Not sure why you figured it would be best to come by my school, and simply not tell me about it." Ozpin stood having his hands held behind his back. Ironwood chuckled. "Please, just call me James. And I heard the council is coming by today. Quite frankly, I'm shocked they decided to check up on the school." James said as he looked at the male in front of him. "Ah, well, as I'm holding the Vytal Festival this year, they want to check and make sure my school is top notch." Ozpin sighed sadly before turning slightly. "I have to do something before they arrive." Ozpin said before walking away from the general. James soon followed next to him before speaking again. "Well, you aren't the only school they are checking. They just checked mine last week." Ozpin's eyes went a bit wide before looking at the male. "Oh, and why is that if I may ask? I only thought they were inspecting mine due to them being worried about my position." James chuckled in response. "Well, I believe it's their normal, where they tell us headmaster's unexpectedly and make us panic until they leave." Ozpin nodded in agreement before holding the door open to the dining hall. "Ozpin? Why are we in the dining hall?" James asked as he walked in, Ozpin soon following him. "I need to talk to the chefs about something. If you could just wait out here." Ozpin said before leaving in the back door that led to the kitchens. Ozpin sighed internally before approaching one of the chefs. One that he approached one of the past days. The chef smiled at the headmaster. "Oh! Good morning Professor Ozpin. How may I help you?" The chef placed the rag down that she was using to cleaning the sinks before placing her hands in front of her. "If I may ask, I meant to ask you this yesterday at dinner. Yet I completely forgot. But I need food prepared." The female nodded, "Of course, we still have what's leftover from yesterday. We saved it as we'd be using it for breakfast today. Like the fruit and bread. As for the main course it appears we still have some soup left." The chef explained before moving her hand on her hip. Ozpin smiled before nodding slightly, "That will be great. If I could have some of it. I will gladly accept it." Ozpin said before seeing the chef nod happily before heading to fetch the items. He took this opportunity to take out his scroll and contact Glynda. "Quick favor if you don't mind." He sent the message before feeling an immediate reply. "Of course, what is it?" The message said before Ozpin replied back. "I have the chefs getting some food prepared for Jade as she's currently in my room sleeping. I have to deal with Ironwood and keep him company. Could you be able to bring the food up to Jade?" Ozpin sent the message before feeling his scroll buzz again. "Yes of course. And why is Ironwood even here?" Ozpin chuckled before responding. "Don't know, wish he could leave..." Ozpin sadly said the truth as he had to deal with the council and he honestly didn't want to see Ironwood at his academy's doorsteps. Ozpin heard the door open and heels clicking before looking and seeing Glynda. "Ironwood can't seem to have the right mind to not show up at the academy. Couldn't he have waited until the Vytal festival..." Glynda said annoyingly before stopping in front of Ozpin. Ozpin sighed, "I agree with you. Also, since your here. Jade had a nightmare." Ozpin looked up sadly at the huntress. Glynda's eyes went a bit wide with worry. "Oh, is she alright? Did she talk to you about it?" Ozpin nodded before sighing, "Yes, she said she heard screaming of people. Her body awoke by her name getting called.... and the person she described was Qrow." Glynda looked puzzled. "But Jade has never met Qrow before. How would she dream about him?" Ozpin shook his head slightly. "I'm not sure. But she also said that they were running downstairs..." Ozpin but the emphasis on the word downstairs as he didn't want to say the clear meaning. Glynda nodded in understanding what he meant before he continued, "Apparently, she saw a body laying on the ground of the basement. Yet her vision blurred out the person. She then awoke screaming my name....it scared me..." Ozpin looked down before feeling Glynda's hand on his shoulder. "Do you think you should tell her? About everything?" Glynda asked before looking at him. "I know you said you'd want to wait until she's older...but with the dream... you don't think..." Glynda stopped in her thought before seeing Ozpin's hand on hers removing it from his shoulder. "I want to wait. If I tell her the whole truth now, it'll only cause her to feel scared around me. She's been through a lot, and while I simply have to keep it secret and tell her some lies, it's hard for me to even think about her leaving me afraid of what would come.... but I will probably let her join the inner circle..." Ozpin said looking at the huntress. The female nodded, "I see. It's your choice Ozpin, I believe whatever you do will be the right one. I can only follow your lead. And help answer her questions she may have." Glynda smiled before hearing footsteps and both turned to see the chef walking with the food. Ozpin smiled before taking the small container filled with food. "Here you are Professor." The chef smiled happily before seeing Glynda. "Ah, hello Professor Goodwitch. It's nice to see you. Anyways, I have to return back to work. Enjoy your days." The female bowed to them before leaving the room. Ozpin looked back at Glynda. "Okay. Thank you for helping me. If Jade is awake when you get to my bedroom. Tell her I'll see her later tonight." Ozpin handed Glynda the container before looking down at the floor in slight sadness. "Of course Ozpin." Glynda put a hand on his shoulder. "It'll be alright. You should prepare yourself for today. It'll be a long day, and I know you'll be stressed by the end of it." Ozpin looked at the female before nodding. "Thank you Glynda." Ozpin said smiling slightly at the huntress before taking his leave.
