Sehun nudged him, noticing how his eyes was lingering a bit too long on one particular woman in black dress.
"-uh, as I was saying," Jongin cleared his throat, turning his vision to the other guests who was waiting for him to continue his speech, "despite being annoying for almost 24/7, Sehun is the one who cares for me the most, he put my best interest first unlike none other person I've met in my life. I think he's the best kind of friend any guy could ask for. Isn't he, guys?"
The other members of EXO simultaneously shouted in mutual disagreement, but immediately shut up after Junmyeon chided them in disapproval.
Chuckling over his members childish attitude, Jongin continued, "And I'm really honored to know that he chose me as his best man, although I know that Mino and Chanyeol are after this position too judging from their sour expressions."
Both men he mentioned snorted, turning their heads away in embarrassment.
"To make this short, and I kinda want to save the good part on the actual speech on your wedding day," Jongin put his hand on Sehun's shoulder, raising his glass, "Let's toast to the happy couple. I truly hope that Joohyun will be able to handle you for the rest of her life-"
Jongin's eyes were back at her, as if trying to say that what he's going to say were implicitly directed to her.
"-and I wish you both have a happy marriage, based on loyalty and trust, and always be faithful to each other. Cheers."
Jennie's hand curled into a fist, quickly breaking their eye contact.
Fighting the tears that threatened to fall down her cheek, she slipped into the stairway leading downstairs when the other guests were busy cheering.
She needed drinks.

Drumming her fingers on the wooden surface, Jennie let out a heavy sigh. The tequila started to make her dizzy after only taking it in some small sips, making her realize that she herself wasn't a heavy drinker.
What could she do about it, though? Years of being an idol makes it impossible for her to touch alcohol beverages since those were prohibited by her agency, resulting her bad tolerance for alcohol. That was also why she usually skipped going to the after party of her fashion shows, choosing to stay at home with her daughter instead.
Resting her head on her hand, Jennie massaged her forehead slowly. Now that she was finally alone, it's a perfect time for her to try to make sense of the things that took place in the last two days.
Too much had happened, indeed. It was as if the world was trying to conspire on how to break her apart by putting her through all possible worst problems she could ever imagined.
First it was Jinri's accident, making her took a flight to South Korea again for the first time in ten years. It was rather impulsive and spontaneous for her to do so, but after all, Jinri was her daughter. Jennie could even go to the deepest part of hell if it was for her.
Moreover, she had talked with Jinri's doctor. She was heartbroken over the fact that Jinri should take at least a year break from dancing due to her feet injuries. Jennie didn't tell her about that yet since she wasn't sure on how to break that news to her daughter. To say that it would be devastating for Jinri would be an understatement of the year. She loved dancing.
