Jordan's pov
He scoffed, wiping away his shocked face with his typical smirk. "I'm not scared of a rookie that has mommy and daddy issues." I squinted my eyes, my eyebrows scrunching with me. I was pushed over the edge right now, only a sliver of myself containing me. Closing everyone out but me but Jake was easy, it was who i would have to go through to get to him what worried me. My eyes flashed, the monster in me needing to show this asshole who's boss. "Jordan, i know you're mad and you have every right to be, but you need to be the better person here." I heard Reggie as he was at the corner of the bed, yelling. Aryia tried his best to hold me back, but the monster wanted out. And it wanted it now. I flick my finger out, throwing Aryia off of me and into whoever was next to him. Everyone got up in defense, trying to get in between Jake and I. He didn't move, he just stood, with that stupid smirk plastered over him.I raised my hand up, forcing Jake to back up slowly into the wall while closing his airway. I move everyone over, so i get a clear walkway and I stand, the IV pulling tight at my skin. "Jordan enough." Cassie demanded next to me. I ignored her, forcing myself to walk closer to Jake while his face slowly turned dark red. "You don't know shit, and you never will." I whispered to him, clenching my grip tighter. I lift him off the ground, and slide him across the wall slowly. My grip increases, nearly knocking him out, him struggling fuels me, urging me to go on. I go to bring my other hand up, when a screeching wave of sound comes up to my ears, paralyzing me. I yell out in pain, holding my hands to my ears from the sudden noise as my grip falls slack, letting Jake gasp for air on the floor. Tara rushes to him, as Devyn walks over to help regain his breath. "I wasn't going to kill him." I mutter, teeth clenched in pain. "Sorry J, we couldn't risk it." Colby said above me. The noise still echoed in my ears, ringing as i stumbled to get up with the help of Kevin. "He got me mad, my mistake for standing up for myself." I said sarcastically, plopping down on the bed. "Sorry," i heard slightly. I look down from my bed and see Jake, who's holding his throat in pain as he coaks out to me. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have brought up a trigger subject." I look at him dead in the eyes, examining his face. Before nodding. "Okay." I turn over to Aryia sadly, as i sigh out. "Are you okay?" I look over at Brennen, Corey, and Kat who still have their air knocked out of them after i flung Aryia with full force. I lift my hand up, helping them to their feet as they dust off. "I'm sorry." I apologize sincerely as they nod, shrugging it off. "Feisty as always Jet, glad to see you back." Brennen said, nodding his head like a proud dad. I smile back, turning to Sam and Colby. "What was that? That noise?" Sam chuckled, pointing at Xepher. "She ran fast enough to create a sound wave big enough to knock you off your balance. Your mind control is all in your head, obviously, so we target the sensitive spots." "I'm staring to think the speedy ones don't like me." I joked, lifting my arm up. Everyone laughed at my joke, as i stole a look from Colby. He shook his head, moving his hair from his face. I quickly looked away, not wanting to meet his gaze. "I don't not like you, it was quick thinking we had no other solution." Xepher defended, rolling her eyes playfully. I lifted my hand up in defense "no worries you were doing your job." She smiled, getting my point. I sit up to grab a tissue that was a few feet from me, when everyone takes a step back from my sudden movements. Half of them go to grab their weapon of some sort in their hands, the other puts their hands up in defense. "I'm just getting a tissue." I state in offense. Where they scared of me? "No, just cautious." Tara answers for me, a small glare leaving her face as she turns back to Jake. "If i wanted to kill anyone i would've done it already. You guys are over dramatic." I scoff, plugging my nose. "It's not over dramatic to be ready for the worst." Corey snaps at me. "And what exactly is the worst? Me going on a killing spree? Already done that. Running away? Done it more than once. Being forced to kill people? Check. You name it Corey and ive done it." We stared into each other's eyes, burning with just looks. He turns away, rubbing his eyes as he momentarily walks out the room. "What did you do to him?" I hear Devyn basically cry out as she followed him out the door. "I looked at him, that's all." I slumped deeper into my bed, everyone definitely hated me. At least Serena wasn't here, that would be a different story. Aryia sat down next to me, opening his arms to a hug i leaned into. I didn't care who judged, or what people would think, everyone has a soft spot or something that get put down from. Mine was people seeing the worst in me when i didn't do anything bad. It hurt, made me feel not good enough or the need to make people happy to see me. He leaned down and whispered into my ear for a second. "What are you going to do about the Brock situation?" I shrugged, i had nothing for once. I took a deep breath, getting my thoughts together before answering. "If he has an extra room i would be happy to have a roof to be under." I looked at Jake, his neck bruised on each side, and his eyes still slightly watery. "Colbys?" "Yeah, i want my own room though, and i don't want limits to where and when i get to leave." I added, holding my gaze. "Only if you come back or let one of us know where you're going." Jake said, checking me for lies. Oh Jake, i wish i was lying too. I didn't want to do this, but without David i was homeless. I still needed to go to figure out what to do with him. "Deal." I nodded with him. "Then it's settled we can get whatever's yours at David's if you tell us where it's at." Jake said, grabbing his keys. "I can take you, only because you need a self recognition to get in." He shook his head, disagreeing with me as my face scrunched in confusion. He needed me to get in, wouldn't he? "You have some time until you're released, tell us and we can get Cassie or someone to help us get in." I nodded, but couldn't help but think of Serena. She was the 'or someone' without a doubt, i knew she was smart considering she was the one driving the car that shot the one i was in. Jake only put people he didn't think were ready for a fight on side lines. "It's under Lake View Terrace. His lab is the Hansen Dam." "She was leading us in the opposite direction the entire time." Sam said in a gasp. "She knew i would find a way to leave, she was just stalling." I added. "Well we'll head there now, Colby, Kat, Reggie, Cassie, and Aryia stay here. I'll call Mike to meet us there." Jake said, looking around as we nodded. They begin to walk out, saying their goodbyes here and there before i stop Jake. "If anything happens, at all-" "You'll know and there's nothing stopping you. I know that." I chuckled, shaking my head. "It's almost like you read my mind." I smiled as he leaned away, but i grabbed his arm, pulling him back to me. "Once Emily's out of that apartment i want in." He chuckled, nodding towards Colby slightly. "Because of him?" "I feel like you know the answer to that." I smiled, releasing my grip for him to leave. Aryia took his spot back, sitting on the edge of my bed. "He's happy you're willing to stay with him. I heard it gives him hope." Aryia said, throwing an arm around me. I felt the energy in the room shift, and with less people than before it was easier to figure out who it was. "Someone's mad." I leaned into Aryia to whisper to him, neither of us looking towards Colby. I heard a loud cough, and look over to Reggie seeing him shake his head in a smile. Crap. I forgot her could read minds too. "I'm gonna go get a chocolate bar." Reggie said making his way out, but eyeing me as he walked out the door with a small smile on his face. I couldn't help the smile that made its way to my face as i shook my head at Reggie. "Yeah i think i'm gonna go grab a coffee, wanna come Kat?" Cassie asked from beside me. She jumped up with joy, nodding her head happily. "I want boba though, anyone else want anything?" She looked around before stopping at me. "No coffee for you Jordan, you need sleep." She poked her tongue out at me as i returned the gesture. "I hate sleeping Kat." I groaned, rolling my eyes. She waved me off, before heading out the door with Cassie. "She's right, you should get some sleep." Aryia whispered to me as he brought his phone out of his pocket. "Can i listen to something?" I asked, motioning to his phone. He nodded, bringing up his earbud. "Thanks," i leaned closer into him, his arm draping over me as i fell to sleep listening to the music he was playing.
