Jordan's pov
"So, you're okay with the whole..." Sam trailed off, looking between Colby and i. "I don't see where i have a choice, so sure, i guess i'm fine with it." I responded, as they all stood at the door suspiciously. "Really? You're positive?" Jake asked, raising an eyebrow. "Jake, ask me again and i'll change my mind." I said back as he threw his hands up in defense. "Okay, so you and Adam will stay here, we'll be back around.. nine maybe?" Wait, what the fuck just happened. "I'm staying here? With the guy that can COMPEL people?" I asked, waving my hands around. "Only for a few hours, the rest of us are going to the address Cassie told us, some sort of convention or fair that was being held and our lead was supposably going to run the place there, so we get him, we have a whole trail." Sam explained, making me want to go even more than before. I turned to Adam, my eyes burning into him until he turned to me. "You don't talk to me unless i talk to you, you can't be in the same room as me unless i say otherwise, and hell i don't even want you to think of me unless i let you." He looked absolutely terrified, which was exactly what i wanted. I didn't have room for another bump in the road, especially the one i was taking. "Welp, you heard her man, goodluck." Colby said, patting him on the back. I wiped off my mad face, smiling at him just as he shot me a wink. I looked back at my friends who had wide eyes from my choice of wording, but i found it amusing. "See you guys later." I smiled, before walking to the living room, and slumping on the couch. Colby walking in seconds later, catching me by slight surprise. "You should go before they leave you." I joked, my eyes glued to the tv in front of me. I saw him smile from the corner of my eye, before walking closer to me. "Can't forget to say goodbye." He whispered, smiling down on me. A warm smile covered my face as i stood up happily. I hugged him first, my arms wrapping around his neck while his went around my waist. He pulled away, his eyes examining my face. "What?" I asked, scrunching my eyebrows. "Bésame," he said, looking slightly embarrassed. My heart softened a little, and it made me love him a little more than before, if it was even possible. "Did you practice that?" I asked out of plain curiosity. He rolled his eyes slightly, looking down shyly but never answering my question. "It's not bad Colby, it's actually really good." I whispered, ducking so i could see his face a little better. "Was it really?" He asked, a concerned look on his face. I smiled, before pressing my lips onto his, and pulling away after just a few seconds. "It was amazing, i'm proud of you." He smiled at me, before kissing me one more time, a harder kiss than before that i did not mind one bit. "I don't wanna go." He mumbled, pulling away slightly. "You have to, because i can't." I responded, looking into his eyes that never seemed to bore me. He sighed, nodding before kissing me quickly multiple times, before actually pulling away as i chuckled, looking down before back to him. "I'll see you later then." He said, going to walk away before i caught his arm gently, holding his hand in both of mine. He looked back at me, confused mostly as i debated on saying anything. Well, i'm already holding him so might as well. "I love you Colby. Stay safe for me." I said, my eyes not wanting to leave his. He walked back to me, holding my hands gently. "I will, i promise." He kissed my lips, before kissing my cheek, then moved his hands to my face. "I love you too." He whispered, kissing me one last time, before disappearing from me, leaving me alone. I couldn't tell if i was happy or sad, but i sat back down, and i waited until i heard no one in the entrance, and the cars drive away before got up, i passed Adam, walking upstairs to a room i saw with a computer in it, him thankfully not saying a word to me. The group was completely clueless if they thought i was going to just not go on the mission, or at least get a head start on it. I closed the door quietly behind me, locking it in the process. Pulling a rolling chair to the seat, i heard the wristband in my back pocket go off, not wanting to wear it any longer. I opened the message i got, noticing it was from Colby. "don't do anything i wouldn't ;) see you later 🖤" i smiled at the text, trying to process it for a second. 'Don't do anything i wouldn't.' So was he telling me to not go on with the mission or to just do it? I was probably going to anyways though, so i texted him back quickly, to ease suspicion. "Oh Colby, don't get your hopes up. The funs just starting;)" i sent that back, setting it down on the desk before turning the computer on.. desktop? God, what was the difference? "oh you crazy girl.. you better be there when i'm back" I didn't respond, leading on the tease just a little bit more, before i got to work. So if i were to get ahead of Sam and Colby, i would have to start small, like from the beginning. Fuck. Okay, no big deal, just trace it. Just trace it. I checked the time, 6:45. If i could find the artist, i could find the source, that's what Cassie did, right? And that took her all day, so i need a short cut.. any. "Adam." I whispered, a light bulb hitting. I bolted downstairs, searching for him in the big house. "Adam?" I yelled, jogging from room to room. "In here," he answered from the game room. I ran over there, a smile on my face. "I need a favor." I demanded, sitting next to him on the race car game he was playing. "Yeah well why should i do that?" He asked in a chuckle. "Well we can call ourselves even, you do something for me for almost ruining my life last year. I'll forget about it, pretend it didn't happen. How about that?" I asked, tapping my foot impatiently. He sighed, just as his game ended, him getting second place. "Okay, i help you, you forgive me and not kill me, deal?" He held his hand out, a smile growing on my face. "Deal." I walked out the room, looking around in the kitchen for anything to eat. "Okay so what do you need? A college interview? A job? A car maybe or some new shoes? What does a girl like you need from a guy like me?" He asked, hopping onto the counter. I passed him a water, while i peeled the sticker off an apple. "I need inside information on the lead Cassie has in order to get my own head start and take the leader down myself without anyone in the actual group knowing of course, oh and something to eat."
