Jordan's pov
"Oh my God will you SHUT UP?" I asked, well more like yelled at the two boys that were still bickering about what happened with Katrina. I had a pounding headache, and they're nappy voices going back and forth weren't helping. "Look Sam i'm sorry, you too Katrina, i didn't mean to brutally push you." Reggie said, giving his attention more to Kat. She nodded, patting Sam on the shoulder before whispering in his ear. He nodded at her, before they walked to the couch. "Jesus Reggie, i thought you had that shit under control." I said, rubbing my temples. "Me too, i don't know what happened." "Lock your room door at night, so if anything it'll slow you down." Colby suggested, resting his chin on my head. I nodded, Reggie nodding with us. "When's everyone getting here?" I asked, drinking another water. "Uh well Kevin went back to sleep, Cassies still passed out and Aryia is too, the rest of the group might get here in about an hour, except for Mike, he has a thing today." I nodded, leaning into Colby as his arms wrapped around me. "I'm going to sit down." I whispered, pulling myself out of Colbys grasp. I really hoped Cassie and Reggie made something to stop my powers. I would stick that chip back in me to re wire the cells that died off, but that kills me when i use them even my accident. I felt myself stumble to the living room, my eyes stared burning, like if i was just chopping tons of onions all at once. "Jet?" I heard Sam ask behind me, echoing away from me. I couldn't tell if he was right next to me, or miles away at this point. Everything just seemed to dull out. "Jordan? Everything okay?" I heard Colby behind me, but time seemed to slow down, and i felt so incredibly weak, that i just passed out.
Colbys pov
"Holy crap." Sam said, getting to Jordan before i could. She laid limp in his arms, like if she just got her soul taken out of her for a second. I helped him bring the fragile girl to the couch, brushing her hair out of her face afterwards. "You think she's okay?" Kat asked behind us. I shrugged, throwing my hand through my hair that i secretly hated, but promised i would leave alone. "It's like she's always so... drained now." I said, checking her pulse on the side of her neck. I mean, she was definitely alive, i was just making sure. "What if she has like water in her lungs or something that's stopping her from- well living." Sam said more than asked as we stood in front of Jordan, like if we were holding her hostage waiting for her to wake up. "Okay move out the way." Cassie said out of fucking no where, pushing us out of the way. "What're you doing?" I asked, hovering just a couple feet away from her as well as Sam and Kat did, while Reggie was no where to be seen. "Her vitals are still normal, but she might have low iron, making her pass out. And she's just really weak." She said, slipping Jordan an IV. Reggie came into the room with a wrist band, or a bracelet. I didn't get a good look at it before he tossed it to Cassie. "What's that?" I asked, leaning over Jordan to see. "Wristband to keep her from using her powers so something like this doesn't happen again." She answered, right when she slipped it past her wrist it tightened on her, adjusting to her size. "You made that?" Sam asked, tapping on the small screen on it making it light up. "Yep, since i just got the latest apple watch i used the older one as the model, this should work fine." Kat wowed, and we all stood in shock for a moment. "Does it hurt her though?" I asked, remembering how it pained her when she tried to use her gift with whatever David did to her. She shook her head, along with Reggie "we wouldn't give her something that can hurt her." I nodded, just as Jordan jolted from her spot, making us yelp as we stood back. She coughed, and leaned up, grabbing her head. "Why are you guys hovering over me like im dead?" She asked, standing from her spot quickly making her stumble. "Take it easy James Bond you have quite a low iron." Cassie said from the couch, raising her eyebrows at her. "Who the hell is-" "Not important, let's go get you some food." I cut her off, walking her to the kitchen with my hand on the small of her back, almost scared to let go. "Did i pass out?" She asked once we got away from everyone. "Only for a little." I answered, grabbing her some watermelon from the fridge. It took her a second to realize she had a whole elastic on her wrist, making her stop in the middle of the kitchen as we were walking out. "Woah," i huffed, running into her. She turned around quickly, and i was still so close to her my body was pressed up against hers, but i don't think she noticed the tension i felt being this close to her. I wanted nothing more than to feel her body onto mine, but as we said yesterday, we were taking it slow. Slower than before. "What's up with the wristband?" She asked, messing with it. Carefully, i picked her up, moving her just an inch away from me so i could compose myself. "Uh yeah Cassie and Reggie made that for you so you can't drain yourself out anymore without hurting you." "Yep, and it looks cool so there's a bonus." Cassie said as she walked into the kitchen. "It looks way more than just something to keep me stable." Jordan said, messing with it. "Oh yea you can also like call and text people on there, basically whatever you can do on an apple watch you can do on there." My eyes widened in shock, this was pretty cool. "Oh wow, thank you." She said, side hugging her. "Yep and i added the groups numbers already so you don't have to worry about that." She said, winking at her. "Well that's dope." I said, leaning over to look at it. "Here, text me." I said, clicking the little messages icon. She smiled, writing something i couldn't see on the small screen until i got it. I clicked on the little notification, seeing what she sent me. 'Hey cutie<3.' I smiled, texting her back quickly. 'do i know you?🤨' When she got it her face lit up before chuckling a little, and shaking her head. "Thank you Cassie." She said sweetly, pulling her in another hug. "Anything for my babes." Cassie responded. "Thank you Reggie!" Jordan yelled over Cassies shoulder before turning back to us. "Finally something to keep me from accidentally killing myself." I knew she was joking by her tone, but something in me told me otherwise. I didn't understand why she thought so low of herself sometimes when she was perfectly fine. In my eyes, she was perfect. I just wish she saw in herself what i saw. Jake came in through the front door just then, along with several other voices following before i could get another word to J. "Ready to get to work?" He cheered, pumping his fist in the air. "Yeah!" Corey yelled behind him with just as much excitement. "Yo what is up with your legs." Jake stopped to point at them, kinda aggravating me. "Leave her alone!" I defended jokingly, pumping my chest out on purpose. They laughed, before making their way to the living room. The girls hugged Jordan, her arms still stiff when it came to hugs, but they didn't acknowledge it. It surprised me how much more relaxed she was with some of us than others, but i guess it was a different from her perspective. "We'll be there in a second." I spoke for both of us, Jordan's eyes widening at my words as they walked away. "Yup, that's right, i said "we'll" as in "us" haha." I chuckled at her, wrapping my arms around her waist slowly as she looked back up at me. "Bold move, i'll let that one slide." She smiled, her hands rubbing my shoulders. "What did you wanna tell me? Because i know pretty dang well we ended the last convo a little earlier." She said, leaning from side to side while her hands made their way around my neck. "I just wanted to remind you that you're perfect the way you are, and that you don't need a bracelet to keep you going." I said, making sure to keep my voice low so nearly anyone could hear. She smiled, going on her tippy toes to give me a small kiss that still drove me insane. "Thank you, you're perfect too you know, i know you criticize yourself a lot. But i think you're absolutely perfect." She smiled, her eyes staying on me. "And that's all that matters, is that you're still sticking with me." I said, my heart throbbing in love. Jordan always made me feel wanted in such a lonely world, and it's always been her, even from when i was first assigned to her as a mission. Now, the only thing i would remotely think of a mission to her is keeping her safe. And keeping her mine.
