Bestfriends With My Doppelganger

Chapter 12

     A couple hours later of idly roaming the mall and the streets of London, we were now walking down the boardwalk, enjoying the cool breeze and the sky getting darker.

       A few lights came on here and there as well. Tourists and locals lingered about the boardwalk, some were feeding birds, some were taking pictures while others were just relaxing on benches and so on.

       We walked down to the edge of the boardwalk and sat down, overlooking the lapping waves.

        We all held in our hands a snack. I had a snow cone, Nerissa had a snow cone as well, Marisol had a hot dog and a soda and Kelly had two corn dogs and a soda.

     "Today was great, I really had a great time" Nerissa spoke. "That's a fact. You seem like great girls, I think we're gonna be great friends" Kelly says and I smile and nod.

     I check my cellphone and see that it's now 7:30 p.m, meaning that it was approximately 2 p.m in Chicago. Great I can call my sister!

       "Hey guys, I have somebody I'd like you to meet" I say and I excitedly dialled Annabelle's number and hit the face time button.

      She picked up on the third ring and her bright smile made me beam as well.

         "Anna Banana!" I said excitedly. "Illiana, I miss you so much. I was wondering when you'd call me" she says. I noticed she was walking and as if she was in a crowd.

     "Where are you Anna?" I ask. "Oh, I'm going to the library. I have a project I need to work on for school tomorrow" she says and I notice she fixes her bag strap on her shoulder.

       "How is everything? Where are you?" she asks raising an eyebrow. "I'm good, I'm actually at a board walk with a couple of my friends. Hey Anna I have something really cool to show you" I say and her facial features show confusion.

     I look over to Kelly and she smiles at me, knowing that I was referring to her, as she bites into her corn dog.

        Firstly I turn the camera to Marisol, being that she sat right next to me. "Anna I'd like you to meet Marisol, she's my room mate" I say and Marisol waves at her, taking the phone from my hand.

       "Nice to meet you Anna, your sister's really nice" Marisol says and I smile at her compliment. "I know right. She's the best, but don't let her know I said that" Anna whispers the last part.

      "You know I can hear you right?" I laugh and I can imagine Anna rolling her eyes. "We'll talk more another time Anna, bye" Marisol says and hands back the phone to me.

        By now Anna was seated in the library and giving her full attention to me. I got up from my sitting position and walked over to Nerissa.

       "Anna this is Nerissa. She lives across the hall" I say and I hand Nerissa the cellphone. "Hi Nerissa nice to meet you" Anna says and I can see her smiling because I am standing over Nerissa's shoulder.

      "Oh my gosh, you're so pretty. How old are you?" Nerissa coos. Anna giggles and proceeds to answer. "I'm 14 years old" she says proudly. "She's really pretty Illiana. Nice to meet you Anna, we'll be talking again soon. Bye" Nerissa says and hands me back my cellphone.

        "Your friends are really nice and very very pretty Illiana" she says and I laugh but agree with her compliment of my friends.

       "Anna remember I said I had something cool to show you?" I ask her. "Yeah, I was wondering when you were gonna get around to that. Not that your friends aren't cool though" she says and laughs nervously at the end.
