Bestfriends With My Doppelganger

Chapter 16

     The week ran by with all our first classes being introductions to the courses. Today is Saturday, the first day of practices to see who joins the dance society. Also the day when I go out with Alistare.

    He had planned for us to go out tonight but for right now I am getting my stuff together to go to practice.

    The door bangs and Marisol groans as she awakens. "Who the hell is that so early" she says as she throws the pillow that was covering her head from the bed.

   "Early? Marisol its 12:40 right now. You need to wake up" I say to her as I go to open the door.

   Marisol rolled her eyes at me and stomped her feet as she entered the bathroom. That action earned an eyeroll from me and I shook my head.

   I opened the door and saw a very cheerful Kelly on the other side. "Hello lady bug! You ready to go?" she greeted. "Hello to you too and yes I'll just go and get my bag" I tell her.

    "Marisol, I'm leaving!" I shout and she exits the bathroom with her toothbrush in her hand while squeezing toothpaste on it. "See you later" she says then re-enters the bathroom.

    I take up my gym bag which had two small towels, deodorant, body spray, body wash and a change of clothes inside. I also threw my purse inside along with my cellphone.

   "Let's go" I say to her and I close my bedroom door behind me. We were both dressed the same. In black leotards and black tights. Kelly's hair was in a bun while my hair was in a ponytail. We were both wearing ballet flats.

    "So, where is Alistare taking you?" Kelly asks me. "Oh, here you go by the way" she adds and throws me a bottle of water that she took from her own gym bag.

    "Thank you" I said and tucked it inside my bag. We continued walking but when we walked out the entrance of Burkley Hall, Kelly halted in her tracks.

  "What's wrong? Why'd you stop?" I asked her. "You're not answering my question" she says and raises an eyebrow at me with a teasing smile and folds her arms across her chest.

   "Seriously. Come on Kelly, we're gonna be late" I said to her and she still stood her ground. "You know you're stubborn, right?" I say and I facepalm while her smile widens.

     "Come on Illiana, it won't hurt you to tell me" she whines. "I would tell you if I knew where we were going. He just told me to be ready by 7:30" I informed Kelly.

   She made a facial expression to show as if she was in deep thought. "Now can we go?" I asked and she started walking beside me again.

   "I bet its gonna be fun. He seems like he fun type" she says and hooks her elbow with mine.

    As we got closer to where practice was being kept we crossed paths with the Chancellor.

   "Goodmorning ladies, lovely to see the sisterly love even at this age. Keep it up girls" she says and pats Kelly on her shoulder.

   We smiled at her and continued ok our way. "I really can not believe how alike we look" I say to Kelly and she smiles. "I know, it's really cool right" she replies.

   "So, do you have anything to share about what's going on with you and Jake?" I ask her.

   "What do you mean?" she asks nonchalantly. "Oh come on Kelly, you know what I mean. Have you decided to give him a chance as yet? You do realize that I have a date tonight all because of your meddling right?" I say to her and she chuckles.

   "It'll happen when it happens" she says and this time I am the one to stop walking. I mimicked her earlier stance and actions and she laughs.

   "Seriously Illiana, you're pulling a me on me? I said it'll happen when it happens" she says and as much as I am trying to be stubborn, she is more good at it than I am. So I give up and continue walking.

   After another 5 minutes of walking we finally arrive. The room had about 30 people inside, stretching and getting ready for practices. Riley was upfront, standing in front of the glass, writing on a clipboard that she had in her hand.

   Kelly and I dropped our gym bags on a bench and we found a spot to ourselves and started stretching and warming up.

   Another 10 minutes went by and Riley clapped her hand once and it echoed through the room, catching all our attentions.

   "Goodmorning Everybody! Welcome to the world of dance. I am Riley Essa and I am the captain of the dance society. We will first start with a couple simple dance routines to see how well each of your skilled in each dance category.

    Next to me is my co-captain Julie Scott. She specializes in ballet and contemporary dance. If you could all stand up, we would like to get started" Riley addresses us all and we all got to our feet and awaited further instructions.

   Julie Scott was a very tall girl that had dark purple hair that fell in waves to her mid back, green eyes and pale skin. She was really pretty.

   The first test would be leaded by Julie, which was ballet. So I went over to the side and sat on one of the benches. Julie gave some instructions and then proceeded to play some music.

   My eyes were trained on Kelly and she danced so lovely. She had so much grace in the way she moved.

   I felt the bench start to vibrate and I took my bag into my lap. I realize I was still feeling the vibrations which meant it was coming from Kelly's bag.

   I opened her bag and took out her cellphone. It was ringing. The name 'Knight' was shown.

      Jake Knight?

  When the phone stopped ringing the screen was left unlocked so I decided to get my payback right now.

   I went to messages and saw there was already an active chat between the two.

   Knight- Hey

  Kelly- What do you want Knight?

  Knight- I really want to go out with you. Why don't you like me?

      Kelly didn't reply and this made me smile. I looked up to see that Kelly was still dancing.

   Kelly- I would love to go out with you Jake, just say when.

    I saw that it was immediately read which meant he was in the chat already.

  I saw the little bubbles, indicating that he was typing.

    Knight- Great. Tonight? 8:00.

   Kelly- That's lovely, I'll be in my room.

    I press the power button so the screen would close and I placed her phone back into her gym bag. Just in time too, because the music just ended and they were now coming to the sides for a break.

    "You looked so lovely out there Kelly" I said to her and she smiled at me. "Thank you!"
 
    "Ok, while Julie does her evaluation for who makes the cut I'd like all prospective modern dancers to come on the platform" Riley speaks and I get up from my spot and take my place on the dancefloor.
