Chapter 5: 4th Floor

(3rd) POV:

While Harmony and her friends continue to climb higher in the castle, two figures watch them through a crystal orb. One of the figures is Axel, the other is someone who wears the same black coat as him, which must make this other person a member of Organization 13.

"You see pretty intrigued by this Harmony kid," the second person, a woman, says.

"Are you telling me you're not, Larxene?" Axel asks.

"Haven't decided yet..." Larxene says, responding with a wicked smile on her face (am I the only one who thinks Larxene's hair makes her look like she's got bug antennas?). "I think what intrigues me more is what you see in her? Is it because you both come from the same world that you have a soft spot for her?"

"There was a time she became a Heartless. And if one becomes a Heartless--," Axel says, avoiding the question.

"They lose their minds and their feelings...They're consumed by the darkness," Larxene says, finishing Axel's sentence for him, as well as cutting him off.

"Right. But not Harmony. She held on to her feelings, even as a Heartless. And there's only one other man who's been able to do just that," Axel points out. "What's more, her powers as the legendary 8th princess of heart still remains, even now. It should have faded away when she became a Heartless. Her power was supposed to have been transferred to the next 8th princess, that will be born in the next 1,000 years, but it didn't. Her battle against Ansem proves it--that she is still one of the princesses of heart."

"It's the strength of her heart..." Larxene says, putting thought into Axel's words. "That's what interests you. Why the Keyblade chose Harmony's heart, and why her powers as a princess continues to live inside of that heart of hers."

Although Axel wouldn't admit it out loud, he knows that he does hold some concern for Harmony. They didn't know each other that well all those years ago. It's not like they were best friends or anything, but they still knew each other. After all, there was a time when Axel often spoke to her about him and a friend of his becoming apprentices to Ansem the Wise.

They are also two of the few people who escaped Hollow Bastion, after Maleficent appeared. Axel then decides to change the subject a little, not wanting to show his soft spot in front of Larxene, knowing how wicked her personality can be. If Larxene were to find out, she would without a doubt use Harmony as a weakness against Axel. That's just how cruel she is.

"To unlock the mysteries of the heart. Isn't that the Organization's mission?" he asks, receiving an evil chuckle from Larxene.

(Harmony's) POV:

"Hey, I wonder if there's anything we've forgotten..." Donald points out, as we end up on the 4th floor.

"Hmm...If we did, what would it have been?" Goofy asks.

We all put some thought into it, but nothing comes to mind.

"I can't think of anything," Luke admits.

"Me neither," says Mieu.

"If we can't think of anything that we might've forgotten, then it looks like we really are losing our memories," Asch points out.

Donald and Mieu start to look sad and scared. Chibi is also worried, letting out a small whine. Who can blame them? I mean, memories are one of the many things of what makes you who you are.
