The ride back to the castle was disheartening, both of them starting to come to terms with what they had seen.
Since Yoongi knew that it wasn't vampires who drank the blood of the werewolves, then it meant that something else did. Something, that the vampires could control.
Jimin hasn't said anything since they had departed. Well, to be fair, Yoongi hadn't either. For Yoongi, he had seen plenty of shit during all the years he had been alive.
Which was a long time, considering he was 851 years old.
Jimin the other hand, probably never seen anything like this in the 234 years he had been alive.
"How are we doing?" Yoongi murmured, and he feels Jimin shift behind him, drawing himself closer to Yoongi. "'M fine." Jimin mumbles, and Yoongi wanted to coo from how cute Jimin sounded.
"Was it your first time seeing something like that?" Yoongi asks, curious to see how much of the dark parts of their world Jimin knows. Unsurprisingly, Jimin shakes his head and Yoongi sighs.
"Are you scared after seeing something like that?" Jimin doesn't answer for a few moments. When he does, it makes Yoongi's heart feel warm.
"I was scared." Jimin says simply. "But I feel safe when I'm with you." He goes back to not saying anything, not knowing he dropped a bomb on Yoongi's heart.
Yoongi's throat feels clogged, and he awkwardly taps the horses flanks in order to go quicker. He hopes Jimin can't hear his heartbeat from the back.
He probably can though.
They reach the castle after a few minutes, and sliding off the saddle, Yoongi helps Jimin off. He had a stable boy lead the horse back to the stable and lead Jimin back into the castle.
Once they're inside, he sees everyone rushing up to them, with the exception of Chanyeol, Hoseok, and Jungkook, who were still behind in the village.
"What happened?" Jin asked, worry creasing his handsome features. They had known something had happened, as well as seeing the troops of soldiers and medics rushing out to the village. But they didn't know what happened just yet.
"Vampires attacked the coastal port of Pontus." Yoongi explained. Taehyung gasped and covered his mouth with the palm of his hand. Jin patted his shoulder comfortingly and Namjoon looked grave.
"When we got there," Yoongi continued. "The ground was covered in bodies. At first, it seemed like the vampires had killed that many people as statement towards my father, that they'll do it again, and they can do it masses." Jimin shuffled uncomfortably beside him.
"You said at first." Namjoon said. It was less of a question and more of a statement.
"Yes. But when I took a further look, I noticed that the victims had two red dots on their neck, like vampire bites. He decided to omit the fact that the victim he had observed was a mother and her child. He thinks Taehyung might faint if he heard more considering how he was taking shallow breaths.
"But vampires hate werewolf blood." Jin remarked, seeming confused. It's understandable.
"That's true, so it must be something else, something, or someone is on the side of vampires and can drink werewolf blood." Yoongi concludes.
"With the same bite mark." Namjoon adds. Yoongi nods to confirm it.
The others take some time to process this new information, so Yoongi turns to Jimin, who had been quiet like Taehyung during his explanation.
"You good? Or do you wanna go to your room?" Jimin thinks about it for a few moments, or not, considering the dazed look on his face. Yoongi sighs and decides Jimin was slightly shell shocked at what he'd seen today.
He wraps a protective arm around Jimin and turns back to the group.
"I'm gonna bring Jimin back to his room okay? I think he's a bit shocked at what he saw today." Jin nods.
"I think I need to do the same for Taehyung," he chuckled slightly, and they parted ways, Yoongi leading Jimin up the west stairwell, while Jin and Namjoon led Taehyung up the east stairwell.
Around half way up the stairs, Yoongi realized that Jimin was walking way too slowly, and doubled back to where Jimin stood, eyes looking a bit blank.
He lifted Jimin onto his back, albeit with a little bit of difficulty because Jimin was basically jello.
He completed the rest of the flight of stairs, huffing and puffing, before reaching the top and trying to catch his breath.
He adjusted Jimin in his grip, the fairy's limbs flopping around quite a bit, and continued towards his and Jimin's rooms.
When he reached their adjacent rooms, he had to pay Jimin gently on the thigh, so he could reach out a hand and unlock his door. Once Jimin did, Yoongi nudged the door open with his foot and walked inside, bee-lining towards the bed. He set Jimin down gently, who curled up immediately when he was set down.
Yoongi pulled off Jimin's shoes and pulled the covers over his tiny form. Jimin hummed appreciatively and curled his fingers over the top of the blanket. Yoongi leaned to card his finger gently through Jimin's locks.
Soon enough, Jimin's eyes closed and his breath evened out.
Yoongi smiled at the sight, retreating quietly back towards the door. He blows out the small candle by the door and leaves.
Back in his own room, he thinks about what happened that day and shudders. He had been frightening, to consider that something more sinister could've killed that many.
He wonders if the other species would finally believe them, and help them get rid of the troublesome vampire leader.
He hopes he can be dealt with quickly. After all, he wants to be able to show Jimin his kingdom.
