Kongpob's POV

My moral sense and the desire to sneak back to bed, crumbled into dust as I hung on to Arthit's quivering words. All other sounds dwindled away to let his voice reverberate around the pitch-dark passage. Having lost any cognizance of time, I failed to grasp the seconds and subsequently the minutes that passed. And as time zipped by, my body stirred into a rare meld of hot and cold. My senses were frozen, to the extent that I didn't hear the approaching footsteps. Yet at the same instance, my chest sizzled with an unknown emotion.

My eyes were plucked from their engrossed gaze on the floor as Arthit strode in. He quietly closed the door behind him, and had stepped only about an inch forward. That's exactly when his oblivious gaze fell on me and registered my ghostly presence standing noiselessly by the wall, watching him intently. His eyes widened, primarily with surprise as he staggered backwards, clutching his chest. However, in a split second, the surprise was flipped over by panic.

"W-What are you doing here?"

What was supposed to be a question, came out more like a shaky gasp. I don't think he even expected an answer but I gave it nevertheless.

"I came to apologize."

"How long have you been standing here?"

My eyebrows knitted together at the unreasonable fear on his face.

"A few minutes."

The words had barely left my lips when he suddenly pushed past me and ran inside. After a moment, that it took me to process his actions, I sprang to my feet and paced after him. Reaching just before he could enter Siri's room. I clasped his shoulder, dragged him away from the doorway. By the looks of it, he had planned to shut the door on my face. Not happening.

"Arthit stop!"

He spun around and pinned me with a sombre stare. "Did you hear everything?"

I stayed mum, knowing fully well he would bolt again if I as much as nodded. Taking my silence for an affirmation, he moved back, closing his eyes in defeat. Before he could come close to even thinking about wheeling away from me, I began tugging him upstairs. While he thrashed and resisted in my grip.

We were panting by the time we reached his room.

"Did you mean it?" I heaved, letting his hand go.

"I-I-"

"Choose your words carefully. I don't have it in me to hold back any more, Arthit."

Legions of emotion swivelled in his eyes. Fear, worry and anticipation mingled together, pulling him farther.

"Can we continue this later? I am kinda tired", he whispered.

He looked so vulnerable, so exposed. I cupped his neck and plunged into his hard chest, not once breaking eye contact.

"Talk to me dammit! Fucking finish what you started! Please."

I stared at the trembling lips for god knows how long before they parted at last. His voice was but a faint sigh. Giving my soul exactly what it was craving for, fulfilling its the seething hunger.

"I don't know how and when. I don't know if you even need the nuisance right now. But I can't help it." He stroked my cheeks with his thumbs. Looking at me so lovingly, it made my knees buckle. He fought the prominent lump in his throat before continuing. "Can't help loving you. I was barely aware of how pointless my existence was. And then you came. Completed me. Gave my life meaning. I love you Kong! So damn much. I couldn't tell you cause I thought you weren't ready. Would leave me if-
