The car ride was mostly silent, the only sound being heard was the one of the engine.
Ten was focused on the road, and he was careful not to follow Taeyong too close.
At the back, Hendery, Winwin and Xiaojun were quietly imitating each other, while Kun at the front was observing the road signs. He was trying to find out where Taeyong was going, but the dark night made it difficult for him to read the signs.

Lucas was staying at the house, taking advantage of their leader's absence to dig deeper on the investigation.

"Guys, he's coming to a stop," YangYang warned through the earpiece.

Ten slowed down, and made sure to stay at a safe distance. Finally taking the time to look around them after being so focused on the car in front of them, they noticed how far from the city they were.

Well, far from everything, actually. The road was surrounded by trees, and a small, abandoned farm was in front of them. Taeyong's car was parked in front of it, and after waiting for what seemed like forever, Hendery spoke.

"What is he waiting for?"

"Shhh," Ten shushed, looking for something blindly as his eyes were glued to his leader's car far away.

He seemed to finally find what he was looking for as he let out a small sound of satisfaction. He got out a pair of binoculars, and brought them to his eyes.

"Binoculars, really? Are we in the 80's?"

"I'll let you know that these gems are worth more than the car we're sitting in, and have so many technological attributes that I can't even name them all," Ten snapped, pushing a small button on the left side of the pair.

"I don't see any movement," he spoke again, this time to YangYang.

"I don't either," the youngest replied, the light sound of his fast typing in the background echoing in their earpieces. "Wait," he added. "I got something. Someone's coming."

The young hacker was right, because as soon as he warned them, a car arrived from their left.

"Ten-ge, do you see something?" YangYang asked. "I can't seem to be able to read the license plate."

"Don't bother," Ten replied, closely observing what was happening. "It's obviously a fake one. We'll get nothing from it. I need to see the driver."

"How can you even see with those?" Hendery asked. "It's dark outside."

"Night vision, of course. I didn't pay so much money for a bad equipment."

Kun, who had been staying quiet the whole time, finally spoke up, bringing a hand to his ear.

"Yang, can you hack the cameras that are in our area?"

"No, I tried already," he replied, "but they're too far away, I can't even get to your car. I'm using the national spy satellite to get as much information as I can, but other than that, I got nothing. They really picked their meeting spot well."

Kun sighed. What was Taeyong hiding?

"Someone's getting out of the car, guys," Ten spoke, getting everyone's attention in the second.

"Do you see something?"

"Who is it?"

"What's happening?"

The three men at the back were all asking questions at the same time, trying to steal the binoculars from Ten. Kun quickly pushed them away, giving them a stern look.

"Don't make me regret bringing you along," he warned, and they suddenly calmed down. He then turned to Ten, who was unbothered by their behavior, too focused on his job.

"Can you see something?"

Ten shook his head no, "Negative. It's too dark out there, even for my binoculars. It's like they're hiding."

As he was finishing his sentence, their leader got out of his car as well, slamming the door shut.

Ten tried his hardest to set parameters for his binoculars to give him a clearer view of what was happening, but nothing worked. He could simply make out the shape of a male standing tall next to his leader, who seemed like he wanted to maintain a certain distance between them.

"Yang," he spoke, "do you have access to the farm's exterior lightening?"

"You mean the one on the small road that leads to the building? I can try, give me a second."

"If you can, I want you to turn it on, so I can see something other than just a shadow."

Yangyang didn't reply right away, but ended up letting out a small "Yes!"

The next second, a pale and faint light coming from a streetlamp next to the cars illuminated the area. It was so weak, Ten could barely see anything more. Through his binoculars, the shadow of the mysterious man that Taeyong was with became clearer, the only thing hidden being his face, that somehow remained in the shadows.

"Come on," Ten mumbled, annoyed, "turn around."

His prayers must have been heard because the next second, the man spun a little, allowing Ten to notice the dark material around his neck.

A scarf? He thought, surprised. It's nighttime, but it's still summer.

He frowned a little, and narrowed his eyes behind the binoculars, as if that could help him see things clearer.

"Show your face, you son of a b- "

Ten abruptly stopped talking, too shocked to speak. The man he had been wanting to see had finally completely turned around, facing him in the distance. He stared directly at their car, that was hidden in the shadows, as if he could feel WayV's presence.

But that wasn't the stare that made Ten freeze. It was who the eyes belonged to.

"What?" Kun pressed when he noticed Ten's reaction.

"What did you see?" the others asked.

Ten didn't reply, and Kun ended up snatching the binoculars from him to look for himself.

"Oh, fuck," they both cursed when the truth finally hit them.

"What?" the other three plus YangYang yelled.

"Park," Kun began, and Ten finished his sentence,

"The son of a bitch's alive."
