Iseul woke up with a sickening headache.

The next thing she felt was the cold. She was freezing.

With difficulty, Iseul tried to get up. She didn't remember falling asleep, and her mind was in a blur. It didn't take long for the memories to come back, though, and Iseul brought a hand to her pocket, relaxing a little at the feeling of the comforting sharpness of the bones.

She wasn't stupid, she knew there was no way she could kill anyone with such limited weapons, but it should still hurt Park enough to distract him while she fled.

Iseul didn't have a plan and knew her chances of succeeding were slim, but she couldn't stay in her cell without trying anything, either.

The windowless room in which she was kept prisoner prevented her from getting any information regarding the outdoors.

What time was it? Where was she?

As her senses slowly came back to her, the metallic sound of the door made her straighten up.

Park casually walked in while observing her. Iseul noted the change in his outfit. That meant it was probably daytime, but then again, she didn't know how long she had been asleep.

"Morning," Park smiled, confirming what she had been thinking.

Idiot, Iseul thought. Why try so hard to keep me in the dark only to carelessly give me information like this?

"What?" he taunted when she didn't reply. "Cat got your tongue? You finally gave up?"

Iseul clenched her fists and bit her tongue to keep herself from snapping back at him. She lowered her head, staring at the handcuffs around her wrists.

Park raised an eyebrow and crouched down in front of Iseul.

"Seriously?" he scoffed. "Didn't think you were the type to give me the silent treatment."

Closer, Iseul thought. Just come a little closer.

As if Park heard her silent request, he leaned in, grabbing her by the chin to meet her gaze.

"I'm not going to lie," he said, his eyes looking deep into hers, "I'm a bit disappointed. I thought you'd be more stubborn-"

Park couldn't finish his sentence. Iseul had been quick, and in a swift movement, she stabbed him in the eyes with the chicken bones she had preciously kept in her pocket.

The man fell back on the floor, his hands covering his bleeding orbs as he let out a guttural groan of pain.

"Ah, you bitch!" he yelled, blood running down his face.

Iseul didn't waste a second, and with dexterity, she freed herself from the chains holding her back. While Park was close to her, Iseul had skillfully stolen the silver key hanging at his belt. She had noticed it the first time he had come to visit her.

Iseul had made a perilous bet. She had no clue whether that key would free her from the manacles or not, but she had no choice.

Luckily, the odds seemed to be in her favor as the key fitted perfectly in the lock. It took Iseul a few seconds to finally get rid of the heavy bracelets, and she felt a wave of relief and adrenaline hit her when she got up.

Park was still on the floor, blood dripping down his expensive clothes. Seeing him like this, pitiful at her feet, Iseul felt a feeling of power overwhelm her. With tears of blood running down his face, Park looked exactly like the man Iseul had seen being tortured by Taeyong.
