Iseul was patiently waiting for Chaewon to show up, finally catching up with social medias and everything she had missed during the last few weeks.

"Boo!"

Iseul jumped a bit at the sudden scream in her ear, and slapped Chaewon's arm hardly as she turned around to face her friend, laughing.

"Chae!" Iseul complained.

"Sorry, sorry, it was just too tempting."

Chaewon was slowly calming herself down, clearing her throat when she met Iseul's glare. But soon, her severe face turned into a happy one, a smile spreading on her features.

"I've missed you," she whispered, hugging her friend tight.

"I've missed you too, girl!"

Chaewon didn't wait for Iseul to put an end to the hug to smack her on the back of the head, making her wince.

"Ouch, what was that for?"

"That was for disappearing for weeks! Now you better tell me where the hell you were cause I'm not letting you off the hook that easy!"

Iseul rubbed her head, biting her lip. She couldn't tell Chaewon she had been kidnapped by a gang because her father was responsible for the deaths of who knows how many innocent people.

"I already told you, I was away for a while, I needed to take some time off..."

"Time off from what, exactly?"

"From everything."

Iseul's voice suddenly turned serious, and her face darkened. Chaewon kept quiet for a little while, observing her friend's severe features. She understood that Iseul had no intention to talk about it anymore.

"Alright," Chaewon spoke, putting a comforting hand on her shoulder, "as long as we're reunited, it's all that matters."

Iseul shot her a smile, "So, what do you want to do first?"

Chaewon seemed to think about it for a moment.

"How about we go dress shopping? I need an outfit for my date!" She linked her arm with Iseul's as she laughed, already walking to the nearest shop.

The two girls happily talked, oblivious to the male presence behind them, following them at a safe distance.

Ten sighed.

He was the King of Compass, the Hunter. His job was to hunt down his prey, following them close. He loved his job almost as much as he loved his members. But following some girls around as they went shopping? He clearly had better things to do with his time.

But those were Taeyong's orders, and no one said no to him.

Well, expect Iseul, maybe. Ten had really thought she was crazy the first he heard her talk back to his leader, but after some time, he had learnt to find their interactions quite... entertaining.

Iseul wasn't as bad as he had first expected her to be, and he had learnt to care for her, just like the rest of NCT. He wanted to keep her safe, but being like her second shadow was one of the most boring things he had ever had to do.

He was as confused as her, to be perfectly honest. He didn't understand why Taeyong was so reluctant at the idea of letting her go out on her own. After all, her biggest threat was Park, and the man was dead. Maybe this whole thing had turned his leader into a paranoid.

At this point, Ten thought he'd do a better job at a fashion adviser rather than as a personal bodyguard. But orders were orders and he had to do the job he had been given.

He watched as the girls got into a shop, well, more as Chaewon literally dragged Iseul when she saw a dress she liked in the store front. He was on the other side of the road, his face covered by a black mask and a cap, perfectly blending in.

The same thing happened again and again, Ten followed the girls through all of their shopping trip, slowly getting bored out of his mind. Taeyong really was overacting. Iseul didn't need any protection, nothing happened during the couple hours she had been out.

As Chaewon eventually dragged Iseul to an ice cream truck, Ten suddenly realized how hungry he was. He hadn't eaten since... well, breakfast the day before. He had to go on a mission and didn't get time to eat, and then when he came back, Taeyong sent him off to follow Iseul and he had missed a meal again.

His belly was making noise again, and to see the girls he was watching over eat made him even hungrier.

He waited until the girls paid the man and walked away to approach the truck. It would only take him less than a couple of minutes to get his ice cream. Surely nothing could go wrong, right?

But as Ten was getting the money out of his pocket, he didn't notice the man dressed in black slowly approaching the girls behind his back, and when he turned around to go back to work, he found the street empty, the girls nowhere to be seen.

Alright, so I'm really not satisfied with my wringing anymore, and want to get better.
Do you guys have any books suggestions in English that could help me improve my writing in that language?
Whether it's on Wattpad or not doesn't matter, and I read pretty much anything
