Ten didn't move an inch, baffled by Kun's idea.

"I'm sorry, you want to what now?"

"I want to follow him."

Ten frantically shook his head in disapproval. "Oh, no, no, no. There's no way I'm doing this."

"Why not?" Kun frowned, crossing his arms on his chest. "You literally follow people all day all the time. That's your job. You're the Hunter, remember?"

"Yeah, people that Taeyong-hyung himself asks me to track. There's no way in hell I'm gonna follow my own boss."

"So you don't want to find out what has been up with him lately?"

"Not if it costs me my head, no."

Kun let out a heavy breath, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "I need you to come with me, I can't do it alone. You're way better than me at this!"

"Better at what?"

Lucas had just made his way into the room too, taking a bite of the sandwich he had in his hand.

"Nothing," Ten replied.

"Actually," Kun spoke, "I think you could help as well."

Lucas shot him a confused look; his cheeks full of food.

"What do you mean?" he asked, almost spitting out his sandwich.

"Ew," Ten complained, distancing himself from the tall man. "Don't speak with your mouth full, didn't your mother teach you that?"

Lucas' face darkened at his words, his brows furrowed, "My mother abandoned me when I was an infant."

"I was talking about Kun, but whatever."

Kun smacked him behind the head, and Ten let out a yelp of pain.

"I'm not a mother," he spoke, annoyance filling his tone. "Anyway," he now turned to Lucas, "would you be interested in helping me find out what's going on with Taeyong-hyung?"

"Yeah, sure."

"You're just going to agree like that?" Ten asked, baffled.

Lucas simply shrugged, "Yeah, why not? If we can find out what's bothering him, we can help him get rid of it, that way, he'll stop yelling at us for no reason."

Meeting Kun's judgmental look, he added, "I mean, he'll be free of a burden, whatever it is."

"Great, then I'm gonna need you to keep on investigating the lead about the one leaving middle fingers behind after his murders," Kun instructed.

"Yeah, about that," Lucas chuckled awkwardly, putting a hand on his nape, "I might already be working on it..."

"Even better!"

"Yeah, except that I got no lead. Whoever's behind this is good. Like, a professional. They're a ghost."

"Well then look harder, there's got to be something..."

"Why don't we put Xiaojun on it, too?" Ten suggested. "He's Lucas' student after all."

"Yeah, that could be a good idea, and you'd have someone to help you," Kun agreed, looking at the younger member. "We could actually ask WayV to work on that with us. That'd be a good practice for our next missions."

"Oh, yeah, a secret mission!" Lucas yelled.

"Yeah, well if you keep on being that loud, it sure won't stay a secret for long," Ten deadpanned, rolling his eyes. "But that could work, yes."

"So that means you changed your mind, then?"

"Well I don't exactly have a choice, none of you dummies knows how to properly track someone. If I don't help you, Taeyong-hyung is going to notice you right away and you'll get killed on the spot."

"Great, so it's a plan, then," Kun said, rubbing his hands together. "I'll let you guys inform the others, I'll get us what we need."

"Sure."

"And please," Kun turned around when he was reaching the door, "Keep your mouths shut, I don't want any other member and especially not Iseul to know about any of this, understood?" His tone was stricter as the leader in him took over.

The other two nodded, and Kun left the room.

Everything was ready, Kun had asked Hendery to steal a random car that their leader wouldn't recognize, and everyone was ready to leave, only waiting for Taeyong to walk through the door first.

They waited for a while before their leader stepped out of his office, dressed in black, as usual.

"Hey," Yanyang spoke through the mic in his earpiece as he observed the screen in front of him, "why can't I come with you guys?"

Kun sighed, "You're the hacker, Yang, we need you here, where you can follow Taeyong's car from afar in case we lose him, you're not meant to go on missions, and you know that."

"Yeah, yeah, but just for once I wish I could tag along, since it's just us."

"Yeah well sorry buddy, but that's not gonna happen, now watch the surveillance tape and tell us when he leaves, alright?"

The youngest let out a heavy breath, expressing his disappointment.

"Hey," he spoke again.

"What?" Xiaojun asked, "Is Taeyong-hyung finally leaving?"

"What? No," Yangyang replied, and Kun sighed. "I was just wondering who was going to babysit tonight since Kun-ge isn't going to do it."

"No one," he replied, trying to hide the impatience in his voice. "Our members are old enough to take care of themselves, Taeyong-hyung tends to forget about that."

"Uh, are you sure, though?" Yangyang asked, not really convinced as his eyes were currently watching the screen where Chenle was trying to stuff as many marshmallows as he could in Jisung's mouth.

"Yes, now go back to work," Kun spoke.

After a while, the young hacker finally spoke again.

"Guys, he's leaving."

Ten started the car parked outside of their territory, gesturing for the others to observe the gates carefully. A couple of minutes later, Taeyong's car got out, and he drove away in the night, oblivious to the car far away behind him.

"Alright," Ten spoke, "let's find out what he's been hiding from us."
