Six moons past, and Alderkit and Barkkit became Alderpaw and Barkpaw. Alderpaw was apprenticed to Goldenheart, and Barkpaw was apprenticed to Alderheart, Starstream, Butterflyshade, and Cloudpaw. Moonpaw, Icepaw, and Morningpaw were becoming warriors. Beechkit was going to become an apprentice. He had a horrible illness that kept him from becoming an apprentice. Now he was stronger than ever.

Birchbranch leapt onto Highledge, and his yowl sent warriors racing toward him, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highledge for a Clan meeting! I, Birchbranch, deputy of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon these apprentices. They have trained hard to under stand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turns. Moonpaw, Icepaw, and Morningpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"Yes!" the three of them cried in unision.

Some of the cats gathered murmured uneasily. They were supposed to say "I do", not "Yes", but that didn't bother Birchbranch.

"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Moonpaw, Icepaw, and Morningpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Moonfall, Icepool, and Morningbreeze. StarClan honors your bravery and your loyalty, and we welcome you as full warriors of ThunderClan," Birchbranch announced, resting his muzzle on Moonfall, Icepool, and Morningbreeze's heads.

"Lick his shoulder," Dreamcloud called.

Moonfall, Icepool, and Morningbreeze licked his shoulder.

"Moonfall! Icepool! Morningbreeze!" The ThunderClan cats cheered.

"Great names! Congratulations!" Beechkit squeaked.

"You should've became warriors earlier! You're so awesome!" Barkpaw added.

"STUPID CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOPE YOU DIE A PAINFUL DEATH!!!!!!!!!!" Alderpaw screeched.

"Shut your stupid, big, fat, mouth Alderpaw, YA PILE OF FOX DUNG, OR ELSE I"LL KICK YA ACROSS THE CLEARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Barkpaw hissed.

"IF YOU'RE NOT HERE TO CHEER FOR US, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Moonfall snarled.

Alderkit let out a disdainful sniff and sat down.

"I've called you together for one of the most important moments in the life of a Clan. Beechkit has reached his eighth moon and is two moons overdue for being apprenticed. Beechkit, from this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be kn-"

Suddenly, Dreamstar and her warriors burst into the clearing.

"Well, well, well," she purred, an evil glint in her eyes, "Attack!"
