Chapter 14

"You will know me as Unknown. I shall not reveal my true identity," a black cat with green eyes muttered, lunging at Sunleaf's throat.

A red tom rammed into Breezefeather. Dreamcloud leapt at him, barreling him over, "Bloodfang! You treacherous traitor!"

"Thanks!" Breezefeather gasped, sinking her fangs into Bloodfang's throat.

"Not. My. Brother!" a white tom launched himself at Breezefeather. 

Dreamcloud slid under his belly, gathering all her strength, dragged him up with her paws and sinking her claws into his flank, flinging him across the clearing. Breezefeather ran toward him, sinking her claws into his neck.

Glowkit screeched in horror as she saw Bonepelt fall under Breezefeather's claws. She darted away, and Breezefeather watched her leave in regret.

"Two traitors down," Dreamcloud panted.

A black cat barreled into Dreamstar, sinking her fangs into her throat, causing Dreamstar to lose her first life. 

Dreamcloud leapt at Unknown, half blinding him. Breezefeather sliced his other eye. Dreamcloud sank her fangs into Unknown's throat. 

"I'll kill Dreamstar!" Morningbreeze yowled. She ran out of camp.

The battle continued, and to the cat's shock, the Dark Forest cats came back.

"We can't be killed anymore!" they announced, eyes shining with glee.

Just then, Scalefur fell, under the claws of Tigerstar.

Morningbreeze did not return. Fear sparked in Dreamcloud's belly. With a quick glance at Barkpaw and Moonfall, they darted out of camp, swerving between bushes. Near the lake, Barkpaw let out a gasp of horror. Dreamcloud's eyes met where Barkpaw was looking. Morningbreeze lay still, on the ground, dead.
