Barkpaw threw himself at her, quiet sobs streaming down his cheeks as he choked, "Oh Morningbreeze, oh Morningbreeze!"
"Why?!" Moonfall wailed, "Why is StarClan being s-so cruel to m-me?"
"It was her destiny," Dreamcloud murmured, "Oh Morningbreeze, you are so beautiful, so brave, so loyal."
Moonfall's gaze hardened, she asked menacingly, "You're happy Morningbreeze's dead, aren't you, Alderpaw?"
"Yes," Alderpaw replied, "I'm not going to fight in this battle."
"I won't fight you now," Moonfall threatened, "But I will soon."
"I don't care," Alderpaw retorted.
"Stupid apprentice," Morningbreeze whispered in Alderpaw's head, "I never understood why you hated me. I will haunt your dreams, Alderpaw. I will insult you."
Morningbreeze left Alderpaw's mind.
Foxflight dashed over. "Dreamstar's lost more lives!"
