17. Hit the wrong guy

I couldn't breathe, it felt as if someone was choking me while staring at Jennie's cat-like eyes that's void of any emotion. My heart was racing and all I wanted to do was curl up into a ball and wait for someone to hug me. But no one would, no one was there as they already climbed out of the cars and they left us alone.

A choked cry for help forced itself up my throat, and I felt a drop run down my cheek when Jennie climbed out of the car without saying a single word and shut the door with heavy thud.

"I knew it." I muttered and sighed softly. I shouldn't have talked to Jiyong earlier, after I saw the disappointment in his eyes, as if he's telling me that I should get my shit together and continue what I gotta do, which is serving the demons.

"Lisa.." Jisoo's voice appeared on my side after IU opened the door on the driver's side. "Just give her time, she might just be shocked."

"I don't know what's running through your mind, schmuck. Why did you have to tell her?" IU asked with a little irritation in her voice but I know that she's trying to hold back her anger because of my tears threatening to spill out.

"I don't know either, I just thought that if she finds out, she will decide to go back to heaven and she will be safe from any harm."

"Stupid!" Jisoo scowled and she encircled her arms on my neck, pulling me down from the car. "You've just hurt yourself dumbass." She mumbled while stroking my hair gently.

"I know, but I need to save her from them."

"Didn't we already agree to a plan? What happened to that?" IU asked and this time she smacked my head but Jisoo didn't let me go as she tightened the hold on my head and she won't let me react from the hit. "You stupid!" I received another smack from IU as if she was taking the hold as an opportunity to hit me several times.

"Yah! Stop!" I whined but Jisoo even tightens her arms on my neck that she's almost choking me to death. "I- I c-can't breathe, Chu!"

"You fucking son of a bitch! How dare you hurt yourself with that kind of mindset huh?!"

"C-chu! What t-the fuck!"

"I didn't raise you to be a weak wicked! All this time, since the first time I saw you, you never disappointed me, not until now, you piece of shit!"

"Aye aye, calm down Chu, you might kill her." IU said while chuckling and tapping Jisoo's arm but the latter doesn't seem to have any intention to let go until I'm out of breath. "Jisoo, c'mon. Let go of the kid."

"Y-yah, I'm s-sorry ok? I'm just scared for J-jennie." I struggled to say my words and my feelings exploded and so did my words. "I'm scared that s-she might get hurt, I know I'm being petty b-but you can't b-blame me, I'm really scared."

Jisoo stopped strangling me and loosen her arms on my neck. She let me go after what seemed like forever and cupped my face to wipe my tears.

"Oh shit, stop crying! You ain't Jieun!" She raggedly said. "Stop being a cry baby for fuck sake! You're an assassin and crying is not allowed on us!"

"We're human, we're allowed to cry." IU said and slapped Jisoo's arm. "But Lisa, you can't be like that, you know that you can protect Jennie right? She can even protect herself, so you need to stop cowering and save Jennie from getting hurt."

"Yeah, unlike you, Jennie can protect herself." Jisoo snorted.

"I've been in a lot of fights that I could almost die but I still make it alive, you can't tell me that God doesn't have a plan for me, excuse you."
