You said you would stop

And you would love me

But you left

Left me

For your room

Leaving me here

Shivering and crying under the table

As I shed my tears

I see the feet of my fears

I held you so high

So high in the clouds

That you didn't come back down

You never walked down the stairs

To see me in utter despair

You never allowed me to shed a tear

You slapped my face

With your wretched hand

The hand that was supposed to hold mine

The one who was supposed to hold me tight

When the yelling ensued my fright

The one with was supposed to hug me tight

When I didn't feel alright

The one who was supposed to be my companion

The one was supposed to be my sister

Not a stranger

Now I stand alone

Singing in my broken tone

Drowning in my salt tears

With no hand holding mine

No hugs this time

 Just me, myself, and I

And now I am a broken shell

Hollow

Empty

Distraught

And disconnected from the whole wide world
