Chapter 13 - Attack

Skye's P.O.V

I walked back into class and apologized to Mic for taking so long. He said not to worry about it and that if I ever needed a break from class again to just let him know.

"Everything's been so peaceful at the school lately," Denki said to the Baku Squad "I mean other than the curfews but they don't bother me."

"It's actually really great!" Mina chirped

I felt Kiri wrap his arm around my waist and pull me into his lap as I walked up to them.

"I'm just glad I've been able to spend so much time with Skye and not have to worry about fighting villains," he said

A small pain shoot through my heart

"You guys should ditch school tomorrow" I sighed

"Really? Usually you yell at us not to ditch" Katsu said "Everything okay?"

Deku gave me a suspicious look from across the room and I knew what was on his mind. He was wondering if I was starting to go soft.

"Y-Yeah," I lied "It was just a crazy thought"

The bell rang and our last class was dismissed. I decided to linger behind in the empty classroom to sort my thoughts.

"You tried to warn them. Didn't you" Deku said from the doorway

I let out a long sigh "I... I don't want to hurt them"

"You realized they don't actually care right? Do you really think if they knew the truth that they would treat you the same." Deku sighed "I don't wanna hurt Todoroki but I have to. Whoever gets in our way is going to have to get hurt. Whether we care about them or not."

"I know," I sighed while hugging myself

"Look on the bright side" he smiled at me "You'll finally be able to see your uncle again. You'll make your father proud. You'll have everything you've ever worked for in your life at your feet."

"You're right" I smirked "Wanna give the others a little visit? I'm sure they need help convincing the prisoner."

"It'll be my first time breaking someone's mind," he said, seeming a bit nervous

"I'm sure you'll be a natural" I assured him "Nothing gives you a bigger rush than your first time."

Kiri's P.O.V

I went to gently shake Skye awake but was surprised she was already out of bed. Assuming she was already on her way to class, I decided to get ready and meet her there.

"Where's Skye?" I asked in confusion when I realized she wasn't there

"Now that you mention it, I haven't seen Midoriya today either. He's always comes to class early. Does anyone know where he is?" Todoroki mentioned in his infamous monotone

"Now, now students," All might said, "I'm sure they're doing just fine!"

Suddenly, the security alarm went off in the school

"I thought you said Aoi took care of the security system" Skye's voice hissed

"Sorry, I must have underestimated how long it would take for her to disable it" a girl apologized

"Who cares if they know we're here?" Deku said from the hallway "So we have to get our hands a little dirty. What's the big deal?"

"The point was," Skye said venomously "The full attack wasn't supposed to happen yet. We're only supposed to be here for the girl, not for a huge battle. We're not prepared to take on the whole school."

"It can't be helped." Deku said, "Aki, go get back up."

"I won't be able to bring everyone but I can manage about fifteen people"

"Don't get more than 10" Skye ordered "You'll need your strength to create and escape portal"

A minute of silence passed and the girl's voice started talking again

"I'm back." she said

"Jin, you hurry over to the faculty room and make sure that the pros there don't make pests of themselves. Hebi, go find the girl. If anyone tries to stop you from leaving with her, make her into a hostage. We're taking that girl dead or alive. Niji, Nori,  go with her and do most of the fighting. If she runs low on energy, her snakes' poison won't be as potent. Aki, be on standby and get them out of here once they have the kid. Don't worry about us, Kurogiri is on standby for when we're ready. Fumi, you and Oka take the third-year students. Ko and Reiko take care of the second-years. ZuZu, Nova, and Akane; you guys are with me. We'll worry about general studies and support class when the others show up but our best bet is to take out 1-A first then move onto 1-B and 1-C."

"Wait, but it's homeroom," Deku said "Aizawa's in there"

"Akane, I'm gonna need you to blind him as soon as we storm the classroom. Do you understand?" Skye said sternly "If he cancels out my quirk I'll only have a few minutes before my poison does enough internal damage and I'm too weak to fight."

"Got it"

The doors were suddenly kicked in. A red girl, who I assumed was Akane, spit what looked like jelly into Aizawa's eyes before spitting it at his feet. It quickly began hardening into an amber-like substance and cemented him to the floor.

"What the hell is the meaning of this nerd?!" Bakugo screamed at Deku "Get your head out of your ass and come to your senses already"

He let out a sinister laugh that put the entire class at unease. Despite being much shorter he still managed to look down to him.

"Well if it isn't my dear Katsuki," he smirked, "I really ought to be thanking you. All those years of saying I'd never be a hero... I should have listened so much sooner. This is where I really belong."

"Th-This... is my fault" he whispered to himself

"Babe" Todoroki cried to Deku "Please, this isn't like you"

"Then you clearly didn't know me" he spat "I've never felt more at home"

"What do you even want?" Denki yelled

"We want the kid" Nova chimed in "Where is she? The little girl with the horn"

"STAY AWAY FROM ERI!" Aizawa and Bakugo screamed

My gaze moved over to Skye

"Why?" was all I could manage to say

She gave me a sad look "I told you guys to ditch. I didn't want you to have to see this"

"Why are you doing this?" I asked her

"This was the plan the entire time... or at least it was. I wasn't supposed to get involved with anyone. I wasn't supposed to make friends. I didn't plan to fall in love. Things got... complicated."

"Don't do this" I begged "You don't have to be a villain"

"This is the only thing I know!" she yelled with tears in her eyes "This is all I have. Join me. You can stay by my side forever"

"I can't," I told her sadly "We can still be side by side. Be a hero"

Something in her seemed to snap when I said that. She began laughing hysterically.

"I'm such a fucking idiot" she laughed "I guess it's what I get for walking into a losing battle. What did I tell you ZuZu?"

"No one cares about the quirkless, the weak, or anyone not born to be a hero," he answered while fixing the collar of the suit he was wearing

"Let's play a little game," she said with a crazed smile

"What are you talking about?" Ochaco asked nervously

She pulled out a gun and a dagger, still smiling and laughing crazily.

"Who's gonna be first?" she asked herself "Let's see...... Deku, why don't you choose player number one?"

"Hmm..... Eney... Meeny... Miny... Momo" he laughed
