Chapter 11: The Vixen and the Black Ship

Mina's POV

I felt the car slow down until it stopped. My hands are still in my lap. They weren't removed there because they didn't stop shaking.

"Mina."

I heard Tzuyu's voice. For the first time worried shown in there. Not thoroughly. It was only from responsibility that I had never planned to go with her. But it's great that she understands how I'm feeling at these times.

"What did I do?" I unbelievably ask. I couldn't turn to her. I was just looking straight on the dark road in front of us. What time is it? Twelve? Dawn?

"Mina, calm down." She commands. Calm down? How can I calm down? "People were just shocked earlier at the party. They can't touch you. You have my mark." But she doesn't seem so assured herself.

Is there a loophole in the contract? Will they still hurt me? Tzuyu raked her hand trough her hair in frustration. It messed up her decent hair. Now, she looks like the Tzuyu I used to see. The quiet messy hair like she had gone into a serious exploration in bed. I didn't expect it but I was quiet relief with the normalcy.

"You don't sound so sure." I said in slightly shaking voice. "I messed up everything, didn't I? I messed up an important party."

Tzuyu sighed. "They can't touch you. But your scent—" She paused before leaning on the chair. "It will not easily leave their senses. Vampires have the tendency to crave for specific bloods."

I held my forehead with both of my palms. No. I heard my name called by Tzuyu but I didn't turn. This is her entire fault!

"Mina, can you calm down for a second? They wouldn't touch you!"

I turn to her violently. "Yes! As long as I'm under you mark. But what if I no longer? What do I do? I am fighting hard to keep this life. I don't want to lose it!"

She was stunned by what I said. She watched me intently. "I won't let them."

"Oh bullshit!" I exclaimed. "You planned this. You brought me into this house because you know I can mess everything." I accused her. "That's your plan right? Ruining your Father's night?"

I saw the car's remote on the dashboard so I quickly picked it up. I opened the door to my side. I quickly got out of the car before  throwing back the remote inside the car.

"Mina!" I heard Tzuyu called. "Damn It! I'm ordering you to come back!"

I didn't listen to her. I do not know where we are. But I knew we were in the university belt. I walked down the side of the road, gown and all, while the cool morning air hitting my skin. I slightly stopped to take off the shoes I was wearing, when I did, I hold it off, before walking again in bare foot.

There are no lights other than the street lights plotted on the street every now and then. No passing vehicle. I could see the five story building of the Collage of Education from the top of the trees not far from me. I'm close to the apartment.

I kept walking. My breathing came raspy short breathes. My throat was cracking because of the cold air and my feet were already cold on the paved road. But the funny thing is? I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed she doesn't even say sorry she brought me into this.

I almost didn't sleep that night. The chaos at the Chou's Mansion repeatedly playing in my brain. I can't stop worrying. This is the only time I fell scared since I met Tzuyu and when our agreement have take place. I'm scared that my borrowed life can be taken away from me easily because I made a disaster. A huge freaking mess in well know vampire laire.
