It took me a second to process what was happening. Lucas Hunter was kissing me. Once I did register what was happening, my body finally reacted.
I pushed Lucas away forcefully and was met with his usual condescending smirk.
Anger flooded through every vein in my body. Not only did he find no problem in kissing me without warning-which some may deem as sexual assault-but this motherfucker thought it was funny. He was smiling.
Without thinking, before my conscious could stop me, I took a step forward and raised my hand, slapping Lucas across the face as hard as I could.
The slap rang out through the entire hallway, and everyone that hadn't already been looking our way was definitely paying attention now.
I could tell the power behind my slap stunned Lucas. He staggered backwards and held his hand to his cheek. He looked up at me, stunned. He hadn't expected it to be that forceful.
His eyes watered slightly as he stared.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I spat at him, not caring who heard.
"Wrong with me? I just got slapped across the fucking face." he said, snapping out of his daze. He was angry.
"Oh as if you didn't deserve it. Do you not know how to take a hint? Or are you just that dense?" I snapped at him.
He stepped closer, "Me dense? Oh please." he said, with a humorless laugh.
"I don't know the kind of girls you're used to, but I can make a guess. And I hate to break it to you, Hunter, but not every girl wants to fucking sleep with you. So next time, take the fucking hint and stay away. Don't kiss a girl unless she's made it clear that's what she wants." I said, glaring him down.
Yeah, the old Ariel definitely wouldn't have done that.
Lucas clenched his jaw, "And what makes you think that I would want to sleep with you?" he spat out to me. He was trying to get me, trying to make me feel insecure. But he couldn't take anything back. Not since he'd been the one to kiss me.
I rolled my eyes, "Because you'd fuck any girl who breathes. I know guys like you. You're not the first one I've come across. Just fucking stay out of my way because I'm not interested." I said before slamming my locker and storming past him.
I ignored the looks of everyone in the hallway as I walked out, seething. I saw out of the corner of my eye Maya and Miles had joined me but they didn't say anything as we walked.
We made it to the parking lot, and neither of them said anything until I'd stopped at my car.
"Okay I would just like to say that was quite possibly the most badass thing I think I've ever seen anyone do." Maya spoke up first.
I couldn't help but smile to myself as I unlocked my car and put my backpack in the backseat.
"He's such a douche. How many girls has he done that to?" I asked, looking up at them.
Maya and Miles shared a look, "You'd be the first." Miles said.
I just stared, "You mean he's never done that to another girl?" I asked, dumbfounded.
Miles shrugged, "Every other girl is usually more than eager to do anything with him. He's never had to pursue someone." he said.
I shook my head, "Well he can go find one of them. I have absolutely no interest in sleeping or even talking to that prick." I said.
Maya smiled, "You see, I knew I was going to like you. Now let's get out of here." she said.
I smiled and climbed into my drivers seat. Maya kissed Miles goodbye before hopping into the passengers' side and I drove off to the center of town.
