Lucas wanted to drive, so I left my car at his house with everything except my keys and phone inside of it.

I texted Maya,

Hey, sorry but something came up so I can't call you, tell the boys they can yell at me. I'm sorry ://

After a few minutes she replied,

No worries! Hope everything's okay! <3

I risked a glance over at Lucas who was staring down the road intensely, "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked, taking the risk.

He didn't say anything, "That's fine you don't have to. Can you at least tell me where we're going?" I asked.

"The gym." He said curtly.

"Um I don't have any workout clothes on me." I said.

"You don't need them." He said.

I decided to stop pressing after that, not wanting to upset him any more than he clearly was. After a few more minutes we pulled into the parking lot of the gym.

I wordlessly followed Lucas out of the car and into the building. We walked in and I stopped in my tracks for a split second, taken aback by what I saw.

The area that typically held equipment was cleared out and one of the sparring rings had been dragged to the center. There was a crowd of people surrounding it, and there were two guys, probably early twenties or late teens standing in the ring. They were both sweaty and sporting a few bruises. They'd probably been fighting for quite a bit.

Lucas lead me closer to the crowd and I looked up at him, "An underground fighting ring? Why am I not surprised?" I questioned.

He just smirked, which was relieving to see after how upset he'd been, "I was going to take you eventually." he said.

I scanned the room, "Were you though? I see no other females in the room." I said.

He smirked, "Yeah well there's also no other females that go to this gym." he countered.

I shrugged, "Fair point," I replied, "so am I going to be watching you fight? Or are we both just audience members for the night?" I asked him, feeling like I already knew the answer.

He gave me a look that confirmed my suspicion, "Please princess." he said with a scoff that I just smirked at.

He walked over to someone standing near the ring holding a notebook, making me assume he was running the show. Lucas spoke a few words to him and the guy just nodded in response.

Lucas came back over and gave me a smirk, "I'm up next." he said.

"So is this a tournament style? Or do you just go against anyone all night?" I asked, curious.

"It varies. Tonight's just fighting whoever. Tournaments are usually a lot bigger with more people." Lucas said with a shrug.

"Interesting." Was all I said.

We watched the fight that was happening, which looked like it was almost over. Both fighters looked tired, but one of them was constructing an attack. After a few dodges and hits he managed to get a knockout and the fight ended.

The guy with the notebook got up in the ring and yelled over everyone yelling to get attention, "Alright everyone! Next two fighters! Hunter and Atkins!" he paused to let the crowd cheer but then spoke up again, "You're both regulars so you don't need the rules. Get up here and get fighting." He said before hopping down.

Lucas took off his t-shirt and handed it to me with a smirk, "And what do you want me to do with this?" I asked him.

He shrugged, "Think of it as my favor. Like in the medieval times." he said with a wink before walking up to the ring.
