Two days later, we were back at school. Things were normal. Rebecca seemed to magically have dropped the comments I'd made on Friday at lunch, because she settled for a quick glare over as she walked by in the morning, attached to Jacksons hip. He winked as he walked by me, which I did not miss.
I also did not miss the look I got from Dylan. I looked over at Lucas and smirked when we noticed, "Well princess you've certainly made him cautious around you that's for sure." he said.
I just smirked and closed my locker as Tyler came up, "Hey guys." he said.
"Hey." we both chorused.
"So um," Tyler started hesitantly, which made me look over at him, "when are you going to start training Lucas?" he asked me lowly.
I glanced over at Lucas for a second before looking back at Tyler, "I'm not sure. It depends on how fast he heals. Not for at least two weeks. And that's being a bit generous," I replied, "why?" I asked, curious.
"Well I was just wondering if I could maybe join?" he asked.
I quirked an eyebrow, "You want to learn how to fight?" I asked.
"I mean I think it's really cool to begin with. And I think it's a good thing to know, being able to defend yourself," he said with a shrug, "besides, I'd like to learn from a friend." he said.
I smiled, "You want me to teach you?" I asked.
He smiled sheepishly, "I mean what you did in that parking lot Friday was pretty damn cool." he said.
I smiled to myself. People usually came to me when they needed help with the homework, that I was used to. But no one had ever asked me to teach them something like that. It made me really happy.
I looked up at Tyler, "I would love to train you. But don't think I'll go easy on you." I said.
"Thanks Ariel." he said with a smile.
"Hey wait a second," Lucas spoke up, "so he gets to take up my training time?" Lucas asked.
I rolled my eyes, "Actually he'll really help with demonstrations for you so you can watch. It'll be especially helpful until you're healed enough to fully train," I replied, "don't be so selfish Hunter." I said.
"Fine. When do we start princess?" he asked me.
I turned to Tyler, "When are you able to train?" I asked.
Tyler thought for a second, "Uh, well we have practice off today since we won on Friday." he suggested.
"Perfect. I don't babysit today. I'll text you the details." I said brightly, pushing off my locker and heading down the hall to go to class.
At the end of the day, I texted Tyler the address of the gym and the time to meet there. I went home and got ready, before getting in my car and driving to the Lucas' house.
I pulled into the driveway and texted him. He emerged later in workout clothes and climbed into the car. I looked him up and down, "What the hell are you wearing?" I deadpanned.
He looked down at his outfit and back at me, "Gym clothes?" he said in more of a question than anything.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because we're working out." He said.
"You're not. You're watching and taking notes. You're not even close to being ready to train." I said with a shake of my head.
He sighed, "Come on princess." He groaned.
"Nope. I will not budge on this. Ribs aren't something to mess around with. You don't train until you're healed. And until then you watch." I said as I pulled out of the driveway.
