Fred helped Vera sit down on the sofa before handing her a glass of water and a potion. He didn't say a word to her and that worried Vera to no end. She drank the potion as Fred sat down beside her.

"Do you feel alright?" He asked her, not meeting her eyes.

"Yes. The potion helped" she replied. Another few moments of silence.

"You shouldn't have done that. You should've let me duel him or stun him. We could've easily walked away! You could've hurt yourself!!!" He scolded her.

"I saw him point his wand at you and it angered me. I would've died of guilt if I didn't protect you. The last time I let someone else handle it, they died!" Fred knew she was referring to her parents and he understood what led her to do it but he was worried about her.

"I'll walk away if you want me to." She said quietly. Fred gave her a confused look. "I saw it in your face...you were terrified...of me"

"I was terrified," Fred started, Vera's eyes shut tight, "not of you but for you. You're not a monster, V" His hand went onto her cheek as his thumb lightly traced her skin. Vera's eyes opened in shock.

"But I almost killed him"

"You fold your socks"

"I could've killed you"

"And you help mum knit, and you furiously apologize when you accidentally step on my foot or bump into me, hell! You don't even curse at people, you see the best in everyone and you make me clean my room because you want to do something nice for mum and did I mention that you fold your socks? How could be scared of you!? You are so tiny and adorable" Fred laughed. Vera felt tears prick her eyes as she launched herself on Fred, hugging him tightly.
"Also, you give the best hugs"

Vera lay in bed the next morning, thinking about what Fred had said. It made her feel giddy inside thinking about how he called her adorable. Her face went red only with the thought of it.
"Thinking about my brother?" Ginny smirked at her.

"What? No!"

"We all know you fancy Fred" Ginny shrugged like it was pretty obvious.

"I- I don't like about him!" Ginny scoffed.

"You do! You care for him a lot!"

"I don't care! I don't give a damn!" Vera hid her face under her blanket trying to hide how pink it was.

"You give so many damns that it's visible from space" Ginny said as she removed the blanket from her. "Anyways, Charlie is here. You might want to meet him" she told the girl.
Verena's thoughts moved from Fred to Charlie. Charlie had been a familiar name. She knew a Charlie. George had told her he lived in Romania.

Vera was almost sure she knew who Charlie Weasley was but couldn't point a finger to it.
She quickly put on a red summer dress and walked into the living room.
"Charlie this is Verena Reeves" George introduced them.

"Wait! You're Theodore Reeves' daughter" Charlie seemed to instantly recall her. That's when it clicked.

"Of course! You're Charlie! Charlie the dragon kid who left school to study dragons!" Vera hugged the boy instantly as the other family members looked at them in confusion.

"How do you know each other?" Hermione asked.

"My father is- was a Dragonologist. I've met Charlie before because he interned for my Father when he was in Romania" she explained.

"We've only met a couple times though. It was a long time ago" Charlie told them. "Is Theo-"
"-dead? Yes." Vera replied bluntly.

"Oh...my condolences"

The rest of the day, Vera spent either helping with the wedding or by herself. Ginny had been teasing her far more now and she was just trying to avoid Fred. It was difficult to do in such a tight packed house but she managed to do it just fine.

The girl sat on the make shift bed in Ginny's room and kept a box in front of her.
Sighing, she pointed her wand at it and muttered a password. The box instantly unlocked.
Verena opened it to see what was in it.

an old book about magical and mythical creatures, a letter and a small necklace.
She took the book out, holding it close to her chest, almost hugging it.
Keeping it down, she picked up the letter. It was addressed to her.
