"I can't do anything right!"
His hand went to the dark mahogany desk. Throwing all the contents to the floor.
Beakers, liquid filled test tubes, papers, and journals flew to the ground.
Each making its own distinct noise that echoed off the purple walls.
"Great! Now I have to clean this all up, the mundane way!"
He sighed and went to grab a broom and dust pan.
He could hear the sound of someone's bare feet padding their way to the room he was in.
"What's going on?"
Looking over to the doorway he could see his boyfriend who was still so tired that he was rubbing at his eyes.
"I had a mishap. That's all. You should go back to bed."
Alec looked across the room at the mess he'd made.
"Magnus. What is this about? I've never seen you act like this?"
Now he was standing in front of him. Holding his hands with his.
"You wouldn't understand." He said avoiding his eyes.
"Hey, you can tell me anything. You know that right?"
Meeting his gaze he couldn't help but let it all slip out. All the emotions that he'd held in, started to pour out of him.
His words spurring out into random sentences.
Even though he muttered a bit, Alec still managed to make out some words.
"I'm useless without my magic. What use am I? I can't even make a simple potion!"
His hand fisted, and hit the table to his side.
"Owe! Damnit!"
"Magnus. Stop. I won't let you do this to yourself!"
"Why? Because I'm a mundane now?"
"No. Because, I love you. With or without magic. You're an amazing person. I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. You don't need magic. It doesn't make you who you are! It's your amazing unique heart and personality that make you who you are! And it's that person that I fell in love with."
He pulled him in closer to him.
Feeling his warmth and the steady beat of his heart.
"I love you too. And thank you for that amazing speech. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"Luckily, you never have to find out."
He kissed him and slowly pulled away.
"Now. Can you please join me in bed? I can't sleep without you."
"Of course."
He grabbed his hand and let him lead them to the bedroom.
Leaving the mess and doubts in the other room.
