Penelope's POV:
I walk down to Derek's office and open the door. I look to his desk and it was empty. I wonder where he could've been, then it hits me.
I couldn't believe this. I roll my eyes and slam his door shut. I walk back into my office mad at him. I start shoving my things back into my purse. "Hey." Derek appears in my doorway and I ignored him.
"Baby girl." I continue my shoving and he walks up to me. He places a hand on my shoulder and I stop. "You ok?" There's a pause. "Where were you." I say coldly. I turn around and look into his eyes.
"I told you to cut contact with her, Derek." He sighs and turns away from me. He looks at the floor,"Nothing happened." "I'm not so sure about that." "Why?" "Because, I-I-" "You don't trust me."
He looks at me with sinister eyes,"I never said that-", he walks up to me,"Baby, I would never in my life be unfaithful to you. I know you. I know you have abandonment issues. I know you don't feel safe when you're alone. I know you need someone to lean on sometimes, and I will be that someone. I would never leave you, Penelope. I love you."
He wraps his arms around my waist and kisses my cheek. He burrows his face into my hair and I put my hand on the back of his head.
What he said touched me in so many ways, I held back tears. I was speechless for a while. I broke the silence,"I love you too, Derek."
