It was the next day, and Zak was on his way to head to school. He got to thinking, the only reason he didn't completely despise the place was because of his friends and Dave. He didn't exactly pay attention a lot, which is why he needed help on homework or work most of the time. It was all just a big ball of numbers, letters, and punctuation. Confusing.
He was going over in his head how he would complain at Dave for being late today when he felt a tap on his shoulder. That had to be Dave.
"Hey, nerd."
Yeah, definitely Dave.
"Dave! You came on time." Zak said with a smile.
"Only because you're clingy."
"I am not clingy." Zak insisted, crossing his arms.
"Whatever you say." Dave replied, still sticking to what he thought but seemingly not having enough patience to put up with the shorter one arguing over idiotic stuff.
They were probably 2 minutes away from school when Zak said something out of nowhere. It shocked him himself, he didn't think when he said it.
"Kiss me again." He said.
"I'm sorry, what?"
"You heard me."
Dave laughed, amusement flickering in his eyes at the firmness in his voice.
"It was just sudden, I wasn't expecting for you to say that immediately."
Dave leaned in and pressed his lips against Zak's, pulling away after a couple seconds.
"No homo." He proceeded to say afterwords.
"Oh my god, Dave, you're literally dating me." Zak said through a chuckle. There was most certainly homo in what just happened.
They entered the building and scanned the area, looking for Darryl and Vincent before finally finding them.
"Hey!"
"You two! Class is really soon, we thought you would be late." Darryl scolded them,
"Sorry mom." Zak joked, earning a grin from Vincent and Dave.
Darryl rolled his eyes, playfully smacking Zak's shoulder.
Seeing as class was already almost about to start, they didn't stand and talk for a while like they usually would. They headed to their classrooms, Zak dragging Dave by his wrist.
"I'm starting to pick up on you. I swear, you are going to make me almost late, or late everyday."
"Good." Dave replied.
They both walked into the classroom and sat down in their seats. After probably 10 seconds or so, the bell rang. It was kind of close.
The entire class consisted mostly of Dave muttering answers to Zak and Zak bothering him the entire time. He passed him notes. He whispered jokes to him, which resulted in Dave trying to stifle a laugh most of the class. He did everything but allow the boy beside him to pay attention.
When it ended, Zak and Dave stood up and left the classroom.
"Hey, I'm going to go to the library really quick. Just go ahead, I'll catch up." Dave said to him.
"You're a nerd."
"Thank you, I know I'm smart."
"Dave, you have to understand there are two types of nerds. Nerds that are smart, and nerds that are complete idiots. You fall under the idiot category." Zak told him.
"Tell me what the square root of-"
"Okay, okay, fine! You know I have no idea."
Dave chuckled, waving and turning to go to the library close by.
Zak made his way to the lunchroom, getting a tray and sitting down next to Darryl and Vincent. They always sat at the same table every single day at lunch. Always the back. It just sort of became a habit.
"Hey, Zak. Where's Dave?" Vincent asked.
"He went to go get a book at the library because he's a nerd." Zak answered, a grin on his face.
They both sat there and talked to each other for a bit. The subject Minecraft was usually spoken about. Darryl asked Vincent to say a lot of phrases in French, which eventually annoyed both of them.
"Darryl, It'd be a nightmare if I had to attempt teaching you French."
"Hey! I'm not that bad." He scoffed.
After a while, Vincent brought something up.
"You know, I still can't believe you lied to Dave at first when you didn't like him. We're lucky that's handled now."
Zak froze when he heard a familiar voice from behind him. Fuck.
"Y-You what?"
