Chapter 6- Acquaintances

Wiess, Blake, Yang, and I were in our room, in our pajamas and still awake. Ruby was outside the dorm. Probably talking to Jaune. Earlier, I was in the same class as Yang and Ruby. During class, Ruby kept falling asleep but I kept her awake and lectured her about it. While Yang called me beauty or beautiful loudly during class as if we were a couple causing Cardin's teammates to laugh at me. Embarrassing me in front of everyone. After class, I talked to Yang.

Flashback

Ruby, Yang, and I walked out of the classroom. Before Yang could go to our room. I grabbed her hand and told Ruby to go on without us and she did hesitantly.

" Whats up beauty," Yang said smiling.

" Stop saying such childish things. You embarrassed me during class," I told her glaring at her.

" Sorry, I thought we were doing nicknames since we were friends and all," Yang said apologizing.

I was surprised and angry that she would call me her friend. We were acquaintances nothing more. I glared at her.

" We are acquaintances. Not friends, I have no use for them and how would they benefit me?" I said not even expecting an answer. But instead, I got one.

" Well, you can hang out with them, train with them-" Yang said listing all the things friends can do, but I interrupted her.

" And forget about my work! Friends are a waste of time and are a distraction from school," I said.

Then I began to walk in the direction of our dorm before stopping and looking over my shoulder and saying.

" I expect you to call me by my first name and we are not friends," I informed her. before I continued to walk to our dorm. Not bothering to wait for Yang.

Flashback End

I read the last page of my book and it was surprisingly peaceful. I looked at Yang who was lying on her side. I felt sadness radiating off of her as she slept. I thought back to how I treated her earlier. How I acted was unacceptable and childish. It was over a silly little nickname and her calling me friend. But maybe it wouldn't be so bad to have one friend or two. I should apologize to her tomorrow. I lay down on my bed and closed my eyes letting sleep wash over me.
