[Marie's pov]

This morning I kept thinking random thoughts, discussions, and self-love lectures all over my head throughout the way to BH building, and I wore 5 layers? I'll never be sick again.

I passed my ID card to access the building with endless cups of coffee, I gotta make someone's day when mine isn't.

I walked into the office with the fakest smile rising the cups

"Happy mornings are the ones beginning with coffee!!"

"Wahh I needed it"

"Ah we enjoyed that quiet time, you're too precise in work to handle" Minwoo taking one

"Yah! don't you dare get something done without my approval" jokingly shouting at him

"Fine whatever,

Did she forgot I'm the director here?"

I gave him a mad stare but smiled and started to hand the coffee cups to the staff in the office

I was about to hand one then realized it's Taehyung, he's in the office today

"Oh, you're here? I didn't notice when I came, Hi... here, take this while it's still warm"

He smiled and took it

"Thank you, I'm here for the mixtape preparation"

"Good luck with that"

I turned immediately and went to sit on my desk then worked all day since I was absent for a while.

I thought I was finally done but someone called me the moment I stood..

"Marie great you're here, I'm done with Taehyung it's your turn now. I need you to check on these with him" the staff who was working with Taehyung

"I'll hand the work I did first" I went to Dae and gave the papers to her but she took them with no words, she didn't even look at them

"Do you have any feedback for me about them?"

"Delivered too late, I won't accept it"

"What?! but I had a sick leave"

"I don't care, at least go and do the rest of today's"

I sat next to Tae and held the mouse with full focus on the monitor then straight away started to talk deeply about work

"I haven't seen you the past days"

"Ah, I took a sick leave, but trust me I usually don't get sick easily" looking at the monitor

"You looked tired that day, It's cold in here you have to be careful"

"I guess I'm adjusting to it..

Aw that's pretty, what do you think? how about adding more of this to this corner?" I pointed at the screen

"I like that, bookmark it and let's try the other options"

"You're good at Korean but why do you speak informally?"

"To be honest, formality makes me uncomfortable, I'll do it if you ask me to though"

"No it's fine, I was just chatting"

After a while of discussions, chit chats and little laughter in between, I raised my hands to stretch

"Oh? no one's here" I looked around the office

Who knew I'd feel comfortable with the guy who saw me crying and struggling with life

"Oh?! wah, we've been working a lot I didn't feel the time" Taehyung looked too 

"Let's stop here I'm hungry, what do you want to eat?" he continued

"I'm not sure, I'll eat later, I don't have an appetite"

He called the members to have dinner together but since It's late they all already ate.

"Wah they dumped me"

[Tae's pov]

I stared at her while she was working, her hair was open with two clips on the sides, she looked too pretty to me that I kept staring at her, her face attracted me the first time I saw her as well, she has serious look whenever she tries to focus and her eyebrows get lowered and frowned together but I just noticed that I have been looking for so long and she never looks at me

[Marie's pov]

"You sure you don't want to eat? not even after seeing how I was left alone?" he asked while acting sad

"Alright I won't let you starve alone"

When the food arrived both of us were eating too quietly but he tried to break the silence again

"What's your favorite type of music?"

"Hmm, I prefer ballad, you?"

"Jazz"

"That's a good one too"

"What's your favorite color?" he asked again

"I'm not sure"

"Pick three out of these" pointed at the screen

"Then black, purple, and brown"

"What an odd combination, now you have to eliminate one"

"Black"

"Purple or brown?"

"Brown it is. you got it. What was that?" I laughed

"What" he smiled back

"You're weird today, even that day"

"Because you are"

"I'm not"

"I do that too" he sat properly

"What?"

"Show my smile to others to hide my blue and grey"

"You're too convinced I'm not happy"

"Is it... by any chance love?"

"Do you usually talk openly like that?" I smiled but once again he caught my sad eyes

"No, I'm sorry but.."

"What if it's love, then what? would you change my fate?"

"No, I won't but..."

"Of course you wouldn't even try, all of you guys are the same

We did the work you needed, thank you for the food, it's late I gotta go" I got up and grabbed my coat quickly

"Hey wait!"

[Tae's pov]

I followed her the moment she walked outside, luckily she had to take a car from the company

The driver didn't come yet so I sat in the car with her

"What are you doing, why are you here?!"

"I'm sorry Marie..."

It's not that big of a deal but somehow I felt the need to follow her, I don't want her to hate me but at the same time I don't want to get closer to her, men are all the same?! how mean.. but still...

I decide on something but my actions shows the total opposite, just like what I said to myself before going to bed last night, I don't want to love her, or anyone... I don't want to lose someone therefore I don't want to include them in my life on the first place.

but yet here I am next to her, she doesn't say anything nor looks at me

"I'm sorry I shouldn't ask you, now you're more upset, please don't think about anything for now, ok? I'll stay in the company to work more, sleep well. Bye"

[Marie's pov]

He left
and the way to my home remained in silence, just like how I wanted
it's all calm, my life
without my family
and my broken love
