"You are not putting that on my daughter!" Sophie yelled, standing up out of her chair, Keefe scrambling to his feet beside her.

But all Arella could feel was her knees shaking so badly she was afraid she might topple over.  She didn't dare look at any of the other faces around her.

"That is not your choice to make!" Emery shot back, looking equally furious.  "This happened last time, Mrs. Sencen-"

"And it didn't work!" She marched up to the Council, tripping over her gown as she walked.  Her eyes were filled with a mix of tears and determination as she added, "If you touch her, I will inflict on you, and be warned that there's no garuntee that-"

"Somebody, grab her!" Emery shouted, and a team of goblins tackled her mother. Keefe ran after them, but Councillor Leto must've transmitted something, because he resisted to standing by and yelling threats.

Arella squeezed her eyes, bracing for pain as the cold metal slammed against her forehead, the jewel squishing the bridge of her nose.  The world faded to a slow pounding in her conciousness and it took all her energy to force her eyes to clear...

Everything felt... silent. No emotions waving at her, and when somebody muttered something in Trollish...

Her mind was under too much strain and pressure to decipher the words- or the world.

She hated the Council- but that was all she could think before the world faded to black.

"Tell the girl to wake up."

"She has a name!" A familiar voice argued.

"Names do not belong here.  Your Phaser friend will be allowed to stay here for a week to fully recover before joining you and your sister-"

"She's waking," the other voice warned.

Arella forced her eyes open, trying to think past the searing pain that was burning through her forehead.  She obediently guzzled down the elixir that the person offered her- but the pain only subsided slightly.

It was still painful- but tolerable.

Oralia's blurry face appeared above her.  "Were in Exillium."

Arella scrambled to her feet, wincing as the white hot pain spiked for a second.  "Already?"

"Yeah.  And they've already declared you Right Hemisphere because of what you did.  I'm left, and Braelynn's Ambi." Her twin pointed to the purple tent and shrugged.

She was wearing a black cloak and a small Telepath pin. Arella flinched as she noticed her own ability pins; an Empath, and a Polyglot, but it was marked with a big red X and a third pin was also attached to the front of the cloak: a picture of a circlet.

She sighed.

"So what next?" Arella hissed as they stumbled out of the tent. "You know the Neverseen are going to come after us, now that we don't have the Foxfire to protect us-"

"You have better things to worry about," Oralia whispered back. "We're Regents, after all. Let's fix Exillium."
