Chapter Nine - the Waiting

The next morning, I awaken to the vibration of my cell phone on the night stand.

[Good morning beautiful! How did you sleep?]

I know it's Taehyung, because at some point the day before, we had exchanged numbers.

[I had a wonderful sleep. You?]

[I couldn't sleep because I was thinking about how I almost kissed you last night!]

[T_T]

[Are you okay?]

[Yes. I was thinking about that too. But...I'm going out with Yunki tonight.]

[Oh....]

[:)]

[Well, that's great! Hope you two have a great time!]

[Thanks Tae! And thanks again for yesterday!]

[No, thank you, it was the best day!]

[Now, why don't you get some rest?]

[Can't, we have dance practice this morning. Ttyl?]

[Ttyl, bye]

I sit on the bed in a daze, wondering what I am going to do today while I am waiting for tonight. I am also thinking how interesting it is that it was Taehyung who texted me first thing this morning. I wonder if I will hear from Yunki or if I have to wait for tonight?

I decide to spend the day taking it easy. Get some food, take a short walk, maybe take a nap.

Mid-afternoon, my phone rings. I nearly jump out of my skin.

"Y/N! Why haven't you called me? How could you forget about this handsome face?"

"Hi Jin! I could never forget about you! I have just...been busy. How are you?"

"I'm devastated! Just devastated that you have disappeared from my life!"

"Sorry Jin, the last thing I want to do is break your heart. But I'm going out with Yunki tonight."

"Wow, you think you can break my heart? No way! Don't worry about me... You have a great time tonight!"

"I will, but I'm so nervous!"

"I saw Yunki at dance practice this morning and he is very nervous. When he wasn't dancing, he was pacing the floor!"

"Really?"

"Yes, I told him that if I was him, getting to spend the night with you, I would save my energy and not pace!"

"Oh... hehe. Thanks for telling me that...wait a minute...what do you mean, spend the night?"

"He has the whole night planned for you!"

"Wow!"

"I have to go now, but let me know if you need anything! Anything at all! I am at your service!"

"That's very nice to know, Jin. We'll talk again soon!"

"We better! Now, go get beautiful for your date! Not that you need to do anything at all but anyway, bye!"

"Bye."

Although talking to Jin helped a bit, I am still beside myself with anxiety while I'm getting ready for my date with Yunki. I tell myself,  I shouldn't worry so much about it. I tell myself, it doesn't matter, it's just for fun, just a good time, because in the end we live on opposite sides of the globe. And that shouldn't make me sad....I should just enjoy and appreciate the time I have with Yunki. 

 And more importantly, I tell myself not to let thoughts of Jin...and Taehyung...distract me.
