***Angel's POV***

It was now Christmas and I was supposed to go to my dads in the morning, and then in the evening me and Zoe were gonna hang out and have dinner together. I was disappointed I wasn't going to be able to see Marshall for Christmas, but not only was it Christmas for him, it was also his daughters birthday.

This was the first time Kim was allowing him to see her in a month, so I understood why he needed to be there. We instead made plans for me to go and visit him and spend New Years Eve and day together, which I was so excited about. I had really been missing him, and I couldn't wait to see him.

I woke up this morning and got myself showered and ready to go over to my dads. I hadn't seen my dad in about seven months, so I felt obligated to go and see him on Christmas. I knew he would be spending it alone, and as much as I hated my dad, he was still my dad.

I bought him a bottle of Cognac as a present and figured that would be enough. Honestly, if it wasn't the societal norm to buy presents on Christmas, I wouldn't have gotten him anything, but it was, so I did.

My dad actually only lived a few blocks from me so I decided to just walk over to his house. I brought the present with me and headed over there. It was pretty cold out today, so I walked as fast as I could. I arrived in front of the old run down house and knocked on the door.

I kept knocking and he never answered. I turned the handle to see if it was open and it was. I let myself in and saw him sleeping on the couch. "Dad!" I yelled as I took off my coat and he stayed asleep.

I walked over to him and shook him. "Dad! Wake up!"

His eyes shot open and he jumped a little bit. "Shit, Angel. You scared me."

"You go out last night?" I sat down and looked around at my childhood home that was now trashed with empty alcohol bottles, crack pipes, and hot knives all over the counters, and oven.

He nodded and started sitting up. "Yeah, had a couple buddies over last night."

I raised my eyebrow. "On Christmas Eve? Don't they have families?"

"Some of them, yeah."

I nodded and thinned my lips. No surprise his friends are as shitty as him. "Here, I got you this. Merry Christmas." I handed him the wrapped present.

He smiled. "Thanks Angel." He started opening it. "Sorry, I didn't get you anything."

I nodded again. "No worries." Once again, no surprise.

"Cognac?! I love it! Thanks!" He gave me an awkward side hug.

"Yeah, of course. Just don't drink it all in one go." He laughed, but I was being serious.

"How's Ai?" He lit a cigarette and cracked open a beer.

"Fine. I hired some new lawyers for him, and they're appealing his sentence. His court date is next month, surprisingly."

"Hired new lawyers? Where'd ya get the money for that?" Since I hadn't talked to him in months, he didn't know that I had been signed to Bad Boy, or had released a single.

"Uh, I've been makin' music."

"What? You're not at the bar anymore?"

I shook my head. "I got signed to a major label awhile back. I released my first single a little bit ago, and the music video dropped this week."

"Why haven't I heard it?"

"Probably 'cause you're not listening to hip hop stations, or watching MTV."
