"Dad, what time is our flight, tomorrow?" the thirteen year old had gotten so tall, since his growth spurt hit him, almost towering over his dads.
"The tickets are on the coffee table, but I think it's at five. Why, hon?" Mark looked up from his paperwork, as he had decided to work from home that day.
The once room turned gym Mina and Wei had was turned into a small home office with a comfortable seating area for reading. Zane had his head in and out of a book, while texting away on his phone with Lei and Mia.
"Can I sleep at Cai and J's tonight?" Zane asked, though it was very rare for his dads to say no to him sleeping at his uncles'. "They're gonna show me this cool fossil looking game thing. I think it's called a Nintendo 466, or something."
"Nintendo 64, babe," Wei laughed, walking into the office, sporting simply his boxers, as he had just showered. "Fossil like..."
Mark's chocolate brown eyes darted towards his husband's body, a smirk on his face. Unhealed bruises covered the man's body, from the previous night and the night before that. Wei took a breath, as he decided to sit beside his son, trying to calm himself down. It seemed a bit difficult, as his husband kept looking his way with hunger in his eyes.
The look on Wei's face read mischief, letting him know that just a few more hours, and they could reenact the night before.
"What was the other word he used when he described the Gameboy, when dad and mom got married? Ancient?" Mark laughed, his son sticking his tongue out at him, playfully.
"If this is you thinking of the games we played back when we were your age, and your dad and I are only twenty seven, I'm scared what we'll be known as when we turn forty," Wei laughed, sticking his tongue out at his son, "Anyway, did you start packing?"
"I know what I wanna pack," their boy muttered, shrugging at his dad's question.
"We'll make you a deal, hon," the older man began, seeing an intrigued look dressed on his son's face, "If you at least set aside neatly on your bed what you wanna pack, then we'll allow you to sleep at J and Cai's. Also, with your new cousin, Carla, being a newborn, you need to be a little quieter than usual, okay?"
"Deal, dad. But, I have a question," he nodded, then his tone got serious, which confused both men in the room, "Why are we going out of town for Christmas?"
"It's something our friend group has been doing for years, hon. And, this year you guys get to experience an American Christmas," Mark smiled, excited to continue the traditions they always carried through.
"Can I bring my guitar with me?" he asked, a pout visible, as he practically begged.
"Of course, babe. Why would you think we would say no?" Wei pursed his lips, looking towards the child.
"Because the last time we went on a family vacay, I forgot it in Milan," he confessed, still feeling bad about it.
"He does have a point, love," Mark laughed, watching a pink flush grace his son's cheeks.
"We just won't get you another one if you forget it; you'll have to work for it," Wei suggested, which his husband nodded in agreement to.
"No one hires thirteen year olds, daddy," Zane scoffed, earning him a chuckle from the brown haired man.
"We mean by doing well in school. Just like you got Lola by getting good grades, babe," Wei laughed.
His son was definitely a smartass, like his husband.
"Deal!" he smiled, kissing both of his dad's cheeks, as he decided to head towards his room to begin the semi packing. Before fully leaving the space, he turned around, asking his last question, "Where are we going, anyway?"
