One day I may open to you
the door to my house
where we will sit together to sing
just the same hymns
that will ease our pains
I know you needed someone when your tears went dry
I couldn't tell you how scared I was
to hide behind the tree of your up-growing desperation
I felt sorry
for not being your armor
in this time of war
I cannot seal your heart
Nor can i ease your pain
When your battles were born
From the thoughts of your brain
