I just stood there, shocked at what she said. I was expressionless, I couldn't show anything. Then I spoke up saying that we can't be together, especially with someone I just met.
"Why not Jon, I feel like I already know you. Plus you need a woman in your life." Said W.D trying to reason with him.
"It's not gonna happen. I don't like you. I just met you, I know nothing about you. And your not my type. Just look at yourself." I say, the words accidentally coming out of my mouth.
W.D's jaw dropped. She couldn't believe I said that. But I think someone needed to say that so she can realize what's before her.
"Well your just a little surprised, let me help you. I'll change your mind. I changed my mind at the word promised. I'm telling you W.D, me and you won't work. This ain't happening end of story. I need a strong independent girl who will love and respect me. Not you. No wonder why your sister doesn't like you."
Honestly I didn't feel bad about what I was saying. I was spitting out straight facts and she is just to ashamed to hear it.
"Hear me out W.D. Go away, stay away from this field of green. Take your life slowly and don't make guys feel uncomfortable, because we don't want to marry someone in an instant." I told her, grabbing the light weight rocking chair and giving it to her. I smiled and said "This is yours!"
She was astonished, maybe ashamed. But Abner looked mighty fine impressed. He didn't like her that's for sure. She was different, she came on too strong. She was actually creepy, listening to people's conversations and then meeting up with the people she heard from and getting them gifts trying to find someone to love.
"That was impressive Jon. I can't believe you said that to her." Said Abner.
"Well someone had to, if not she would do that to every guy... plus who could like her. She was ugly." I say.
"I guess you haven't looked in the mirror in a while." Said Abner laughing.
I began to laugh too, then said "Actually, they were already broken before I looked. The mirrors shattered when they saw W.D."
We were being fools for a while, cracking up jokes left and right. Then things got more serious when they realized what was in front of us. Reality. We really needed some kind of job or we are not gonna survive.
