Alec woke up, moving his hand around in an attempt to pull Magnus closer to him. However, when his hand only felt their sheets Alec was confused, "Magnus?" he mumbled, half awake and half asleep. When he received no reply he shot up. It wasn't like Magnus to not be there when Alec woke up. Looking around the room Alec still didn't see him.

He checked the bathroom, kitchen, and living room. Magnus was in neither of those places. On the rare occasions when Magnus, for whatever reason, had to leave before Alec woke up he always left a note. He walked back into their room, trying to see if he missed the note, but there wasn't one. Where was his sparkly, warlock boyfriend?

"Good morning darling." Alec heard out in the living room. He walked into the other room, "Where were you? There was no note and I was beginning to worry." Without thinking twice Alec wrapped Magnus up in a hug, glad to have him here. Lately Alec had been having this feeling that something bad was going to happen, whether it was to him or to Magnus he wasn't sure, but he didn't want to leave it up to chance.

"I only went to grab coffee." Magnus chuckled. Alec stepped back and looked down, suddenly realizing he had knocked the coffee out of his boyfriend's hands when he hugged him. "Sorry Mags." Magnus shook his head, "You're always apologizing." He then flicked his wrist and the spilled coffee immediately disappeared, "See? No harm no foul."

Smiling, Magnus grabbed hold of the waistband of Alec's boxers, pulling the boy in for a kiss. Before Alec could get too into the kiss Magnus pulled away and smiled, "Now, what do you want to do today my love?"

Alec blushed, "I was already doing it."

Magnus' smile grew and stretched from ear to ear.

"Not that that wasn't fun, but we should do something today."  Alec nodded but only pulled Magnus back in for another kiss. Then there was a knock at the door.

"I am not dealing with any clients today!" Magnus screamed. The person knocked again, and as Magnus cursed the day said person was ever born, he heard a voice.

"Magnus Bane, it's Maryse and Robert Lightwood, Alec's parents. Could we speak with you?" Alec stared at the door in astonishment. What were his parents doing here? They didn't even accept him being gay, let alone his relationship with Magnus.

"Don't answer it!" Alec whispered.

"What else am I supposed to do? I'm sure they won't just go away." Magnus said, not whispering. He walked towards the door, returning his hair back to its glittery and spiky form as he did so. He also fixed his smudged makeup.  Alec went to fix the couch pillows and soon sat down with a book in his hand, nodding to Magnus to open the door. Magnus opened the door.

"Mr. and Mrs. Lightwood, what a wonderful surprise!" he said. He ushered them in and Alec looked up from his book, which he wasn't at all reading. On their way in Magnus could see the disgust and resentment in Mr. Lightwood's eyes. He decided to brush it off and just widen his grin.

Alec looked at his mother and father and his eyes soon found his father's. He could see barely veiled hatred and revulsion in those eyes. The eyes that used to look at Alec with love and satisfaction for his son's skills. He didn't know this person. His mother nodded at him before she began to speak.

"Thanks for letting us in Magnus, I know we got off on the wrong foot before, and since I know we both care for Alec, I thought we could learn to at least tolerate each other." Maryse said.

Alec was surprised by this, maybe his parents were coming around. Magnus gave out a long exhale.

"I agree. We both love Alexander more than life itself.  Why shouldn't we be able to get along." Those words made Alec smile. He got up from his spot on the couch and stood next to Magnus. Alec glanced at his father's face, he could see his father was upset but was trying to hide it, but his mother kept her cool, like always.

"We would like to invite you to a dinner at The Institute. There we could talk and get to know each other better." Magnus tensed a little at this. He wanted to believe that Maryse and Robert wanted to accept him and Alec's relationship, but the look in Robert's eyes told him otherwise. He also knew if he declined Alec wouldn't be too happy with him.  After weighing the pros and cons heavily in his head, he accepted the dinner invitation. With that Maryse and Robert left, leaving Alec and Magnus alone again.
