one time in kindergarten,
I found a big and round orange
in my brown lunch paper bag.
my friends laughed at the size.
at first I was confused as to what
was funny.
but I laughed as well because if
they were laughing then it was funny
and I just didn't get it.
so we laughed together like it
was the silliest thing ever.
I peeled the orange slowly with my
little hands and shared with my friends.
they didn't take it though.
they said I should enjoy it by myself.
but really, it was because I touched
the orange and they didn't like that.
I refused to be upset with them.
they were my friends after all.
they can say whatever they want.
I lost my appetite and abandoned the
big, juicy orange instead.
