Chapter nineteen

I only let myself cry when we were far away from everyone else, Klaus took me back to the house ahead of the siblings, so they could deal with Finn.

Klaus and I laid in bed, clutching on to one another, each needing support. Tonight had been a close call, but thanks to my soon to be mother-in-law, I still have my baby, and regardless of what I've said previously, the events had scared me.

"Klaus?" He hummed in reply. "I met your mom"

"What?" It wasn't angry, just curious.

"She saved our baby, she protected me from Finn until you guys could arrive" I drew patterns on Klaus' shirt with my finger, my head lying on his chest.

"I wouldn't have expected that of my mother" he replied.

"Esther said that our baby was the world's hope, and that I needed to save you"

"Do you think this has anything to do with the prophecy?" He asked, massaging my lower back with one hand.

"I don't know, maybe? We've got the first line down for sure 'born of the blood of a doppelgänger' which we came to find out was me, I stopped you from killing your brother, so I was the one to quell your anger"

"Right, and we know from when I won against my father that if we kill an original, any vampire they've ever turned will die with them, so I suppose you saved generations of vampires today my love" he kissed the top of my head.

"But the last line doesn't make sense, 'power found that once was craved' I don't crave power"

"That line might be about me little flower, when I became I hybrid, I became a powerful creature, and I craved that for a long time"

"But that was before we met" I objected. "All the events in the prophecy occurred after I got the soulmate mark"

"Elijah always said family was power, I gained a soulmate and a child, so that could be the last line" he suggested.

"Will you two just get married already!" Kol shouted from downstairs, I could even hear him from where I was laying.

I only heard Elijah's voice, most likely scolding Kol but I couldn't make out what was being said.

"Do you want to go back to the Salvatores tonight, or stay with me?" Klaus asked, ignoring his younger brother.

"I think I want to stay, but only if we go hang out with your siblings, I know Rebekah's been dying to talk to me" I lifted my head to see my soulmate looking down at me.

"I will make that trade off any day" he grinned, leaning forward and catching my lips.

Humming, I grinned, hopping off the bed, and walking to the door, without looking back.

Klaus rushes forward catching me by my waist, causing me to giggle. "Now where do you think you're going love?" He raised a brow.

"To show off this amazing ring to the girliest girl I've ever met" I laughed, kissing his cheek, and getting out of grip, onto to slip my hand into his.

They fit together so perfectly, and Klaus didn't seem to mind, while we walked to the kitchen. He pulled my chair out for me, and then quickly sat in the spot right next to me.

"Show me the ring" Rebekah squealed, happy she's going to be getting a sister.

I lifted my left hand, admiring the ring for a moment before dangling it like those people on tv. "It even has little daisies on it" I gushed, much to Klaus' pleasure, earning a groan from the youngest boy.

"Yes yes you and my brother are in love, we get it" Kol grinned when Rebekah shot him a death glare.

"It's adorable Kol, you're just jealous because you don't have a soulmate" the female Mikaelson rolled her eyes when Kol stuck out his tongue, although he never did deny it.

"I have a question though" I interrupted their petty fight "what is our baby going to be? Will the baby inherit Klaus' genes? will they be human?"

"This has never happened before, vampires are not supposed to be able to procreate, but it's possible it's because Niklaus is a hybrid, that half that's a wolf?" Elijah theorized.

"Nature's loophole" Kol grumbled. "Of course Klaus gets a chance while the rest of us just get to stay dead"

"Regardless" Elijah shot Kol a look "you and the baby are this family's number one priority, how would you feel about moving back into the mansion?"

"I want to wait until we are married, and then I'll move here, that way I can break the news to the Salvatores one step at a time" I replied playing with Klaus' hand. Elijah nodded, accepting what I wanted.

"Can I plan your wedding?" Rebekah begged "it could take the stress off of you and the baby" she added.

Laughing I glanced at Klaus before nodding "you can plan it, on the condition that if Klaus or I say no, it's no, okay?" She nodded enthusiastically.

"This is going to be the biggest wedding in centuries" Rebekah stood, speeding off to who knows where

"I don't think you understand what you've just done my love" Klaus kissed my cheek.

"I'm starting to realize" I smiled at him. "But I'm glad we're going to be a family"

"And we will be one" He smiled
