I climbed down from the tree. It was time to move. I needed food. Today I planed on gathering food, hunting, then finding water. I snuck threw the bushes.
Looking around, I saw birds in the trees. I listened and heard the soft patter of squirrels running along the ground. I didn't hear anything else.
I walked for a while, picking wild strawberries, but nothing else, as I didn't know if they were poisonous or not. I absentmindedly began to hum a campfire song I had learned when camp Jupiter visited camp half-blood. It was dedicated to Percy, called 'I accidentally vaporized my pre-algebra teacher'
I stopped when I thought I heard voices, but it was something different. The birds were singing my song. They weren't singing, more like humming, but their voices mixed together to form a sweet, pure sound. Then the birds flew off as a girl stumbled out of the forest landscape.
She looked around the landscape before noticing me. She stumbled back into the bushes, but tripped over a rock and landed on her arm. It bent at an awful angle. She stifled a scream and stumbled farther away. I ran to her and offered a hand to help her up. She reached out with her good arm and I pulled her up.
"Don't hurt me." She whispered.
"I won't." I promised, "let me see that arm."
She held out her injured arm and I tore a strip of fabric from my green shirt and wrapped it around her arm like a sling. I then tore another strip and tied my hair that had long ago fallen out of its braid into a very messy ponytail.
Victoria looked better every second. I shared a few of my strawberries with her, and after thirty minutes her arm was good as new. Perhaps she was more important than I thought. Maybe even a minor goddess.
By nightfall, we both were exhausted. We had hunted squirrels. They seemed to move slower, and we're easier to catch now that Victoria was with me.
I considered our options. We needed a fire to cook the food, but the fire would attract people. I know we are supposed to save them, but how do we do that?
I stumbled across a glowing red flower. The heat-perfect. Victoria and I cooked two squirrels and silently are them. Percy and Hank had died today.
Hello. Sorry, it's only like 400 words, at least it's a chapter! Also, I sorta maybe had this chapter written 80% of the way two months ago and never finished it until now...but whatever
Also one of my IRL BFFs QueenPersassyAquaina made a Hamilton Hunger Games crossover if you like Hamilton! And if you don't know what Hamilton is listening to it will change your life. Thank you so much Bricks.
